I am sorry to say that between family obligations, already scheduled repairs, and working at Unbound Camp late next week, that I am booked up until Monday April 13th.
Flint Hills Mobile Bike Repair
My name is Dave Colburn and I have been in the bicycle business for over 40 years. My trailer, which allows me to perform repairs on site, at your home or work.
I started Flint Hills Mobile Bike - (785) 236-1486 - so that you do not have to come to me, I come to you! Parts availability is still an issue due to world wide demand for bike parts during COVID. Thus, it will be important to discuss ahead of time what parts your bike might need, if I am to be able to finish the work the day of your repair.
Hey all of you bicycle riders who run tubeless tires, be thinking about refreshing your sealant. Spring riding is not far away!

I am pleased to announce that I am now a dealer for Paul Component Engineering. Everything they make is made in the U.S.A. Here is the link to their website, if you want to know more. https://www.paulcomp.com/shop/components/drivetrain/cranksets/100-pure-paul-cranks/ I recently installed Paul’s Klamper brakes on my Time ADHX bike. Most bicyclists consider cable operatedd disc brakes to be a poor substitute for their hydraulic counterparts. Klampers upend the common wisdom.

While in Fairmont Mn. for a funeral I met Larry Vogem, owner of the Bicycle Shoppe there. Between the two of us we have 99 years, and counting, in the bicycle business. Needless to say, we had a lot to talk about. While far from traditional, Larry’s shop is an amazing experience. The ceiling is full of hanging antique and collectable bikes. Meanwhile, most of the walls are full of antique toy trucks, cars, trains, airplanes, and the like. On top of that, his shop sits right on one of the five beautiful lakes around which Fairmont is built. We had a wonderful time discussing the ups and downs of being in the bicycle business.

Kid’s Bike Recycling needs your help with the Ogden Bike Swap. Saturday 8/24 we’ll be hauling bikes and equipment to the Ogden Community Center. We’ll start at Bike Tek at 4pm and finish up around 7 in Ogden - sooner if we have lots of help. Sunday 8/24 we need you to help families pick out bikes or do other tasks. That runs from noon to 3. And/or we need help hauling bikes and equipment back to Manhattan from about 3 to 6.
Thanks!
Happy summer all! I will have significantly reduced availability for the month of July. We are hosting our granddaughter and we will be quite busy riding bikes, going to the pool, catching lighting bugs, and making ice cream. Cheers!
I will be working at Unbound Camp in Emporia April 3 to 6. I can get small jobs done on either April 1 or 2. Big jobs will need to wait until April 7 or beyond. Thanks!

Yes, it’s stupid cold outside and bike riding is probably the last thing on your mind about now. However, now is the best time to get your bike ready for warmer weather (It’s coming, I promise!) I will come get your bike and then return it. You can stay home and stay warm!

Best wishes to all of my friends and customers for the New Year! I will be taking some time off to be with family until Tuesday Jan. 7. Feel free to contact me if you want to set up an appointment once I come back “online”. In the meantime, keep on climbing!
Now that bike season is winding down, I’m taking the next three weeks off to spend time with family and friends. Bike Tek can quickly turn around anything you need done while I am taking my break. I’ll be back to fixing bikes on the 11th of November.
