A late post, but on 4-1-26 four of our West GBB got to attend and receive the All city Basketball Award. Congratulations Romo, Liv, Allison, and Brynn! So deserving and proud of all of your hard work, dedication, and leadership you all showed on the floor this year. A season full of hard work and showing up everyday! Congrats girls!!

I am not sure when one of our scarlet athletes last played in the MN All Star game, but our senior Olivia Downs represented Mankato West Highschool yesterday for her team and school. One last time in her west basketball jersey!! What a career she has had, but an even bigger senior year. Your hard work and dedication has not gone unnoticed. #1 signing out!! Proud of you Tuck!!

The Mankato area press voted FOUR of our west girls basketball athletes for the All city Awards. They are all so deserving!! Congratulations Romo, Livi, Allison, and Brynn!! You all worked hard all season, cheered on all your teammates, and all shined every game in your own ways!

Another school season record broken after this season!! Old record was 76 three pointers made!! It is now 92!! Congratulations Livi!!!

BIG 9 All conference (Olivia Downs) and Honorable mention (Romo Smith). I love seeing our west athletes being voted on by other coaches in our conference. Proud of the leadership you both showed your teammates and opponents! Congratulations you two!!

This award doesn't come easily! So deserving! You are a true leader on and off the court!! Enjoy all these acknowledgments! They are a huge deal! Congratulations Liv!!!

She put her high school jersey on for the last time yesterday, and even though our season is over, her name will hold strong in the school records spot! For many years Abby Rothenbuehler has held the career rebounding record of 902 and now after our 2025/26 season Olivia Downs has broken it with 920 career rebounds! Way to go Liv!!!

A coachable athlete with strong individual goals is someone who combines ambition with humility, always striving to improve while remaining open to feedback. They set clear personal targets—whether it’s refining technique, increasing strength, or elevating performance—and pursue them with discipline and focus. Congratulations Liv!! Breaking the same goal twice!!

A game that was a battle til the very end last night, ended with a group prayer between the two teams. Proud of all the athletes for showing great sportsmanship the whole night.
