“I heard about Anytime Fitness through my sister about 2 years ago. I enjoy the people, the environment, and the convenience of being able to go anytime. Everyone is always friendly, and I enjoy the variety of equipment offered. My goal is to lose weight, build muscle, and get into better shape. I’ve been thinking about my goals for about 2 years now. Also, since I am participating in three weddings, I am trying to make healthier lifestyle choices. I attend Anytime Fitness about 4-5 times a week. Working out has also contributed to my hobbies which includes kickball. My biggest motivation is seeing results and being accountable to myself, my mom, and my aunt. Since being here, I have seen some results which keep me consistent with coming back! My favorite exercise is shoulder workouts, but my least favorite exercise is burpees. My advice to encourage others is: Stay true to yourself. Motivation is an emotion and it comes and goes, so you must stay consistent and answer to yourself!”

I heard about Anytime Fitness through my friend, CC (Cornelius). I chose Anytime Fitness because of its welcoming atmosphere and its “close to home” location, though the fact that it is a 24-hour facility makes it even better. Also, the gym itself is so well organized and it’s always kept clean. One of my favorite things about Anytime Fitness is their energetic staff, Jessica and Kenya, and their positive energy. Once I became a member, they made me feel as if I was right at home. When it comes to my fitness goals, I’ve been thinking about them for about 3 months now and my overall goal is to lose fat and to gain muscle. I attend the gym at least 5 days a week and one of my biggest motivators is my partner, CC. My hobbies mainly include basketball and working out regularly has helped my skills on the court. The biggest lesson that I’ve learned since coming to ATF Manning is to keep pushing yourself even on the days you don’t feel like moving. My favorite workouts include using the leg machines. My least favorite exercise are squats. I am so happy that I joined ATF Manning and I’m happy to see how well I’m progressing towards my goals. If I could offer up any advice to others, it would be this: If you can find a gym partner, he/she will help you achieve things you never thought you could do.”

AF member Laura Card is proof that if you set your mind to making healthy happen, nothing—not even breast cancer—can stop you.

When Laura was diagnosed with cancer, she knew that if she wanted to stay as healthy as possible, she needed to continue working out. She says, "Just because you’re sick, doesn’t mean you can stop living. Don’t give into your sickness, conquer it. There were many times I didn’t feel like going to the gym, but you just have to show up and I did. David and Stephanie [AF Pawleys Island owners], they keep me going, they really do. Everybody’s not gonna have a David and Stephani on their journey, but I’m so grateful I did."
