If defense is important at the next level...why shouldn't it be important at ours?
Ty and I LOVE good, clean, smart defense.

As far as win and loses go...the week did not go well. As far as mental strength, experience, bonding and growth as a team....it was awesome. So proud of the fight and effort these guys gave each other on Day 4 and their last game. I could write a book on how bad the umps were but thats for another day. I tried to get ejected, cussed at them in spanish...they never pulled the trigger.
I had two of my 17 players as my assistants for the week and I think they had a pretty great time doing it. I always should get more pictures...but I forget. I did get these.
Excited to see how they develop throughout the summer.

Last two days were a little rough. Had leads early and couldn't hold on them. We have base runners opportunities in both games, just couldn't find those timely hits. Baseball is a rough game. We have one more tomorrow on the big league spring training field of the Nationals and Astros. That will be a great experience for them. Hope we can go home with a win.

Totally forgot some huge plays today. Two outfield assists to end innings. Anthony Sveda (RF) in the 1st inning, throwing a runner out at 3rd (almost had a second) and Will Smithers (CF) throwing a runner out at home on a potential sac fly. Both throws were air to air and right on the money.

Game 1 today, boys played a pretty good team and battled. We came up short 4-2 but I was very encouraged and happy with how they played. Max and Will did a great job on the mound, defense was good overall, we base runners almost every inning...couple hits, couple balls go our way, outcome could have been. We were in a position to win and sometimes thats all you can ask with this game next game tomorrow morning at 8am EST.

Florida week is upon us. Games start Friday morning. Excited to see what can do this week. It is a wood bat tournament which makes it an entirely different ball game.

Excellent weekend for the boys. 15/16s bracket had 29 teams, they finished 8th overall going 3 and 1 on the weekend. We had 1 bad defensive inning, leading to the one loss yesterday. Very happy with this weekend, their effort and more importantly how they have yelled as a team so quickly. We a lot more to accomplish this summer. First game in Florida (Jupiter) is on June 6th. Hoping for a fun 5 days watching them play and guiding them. Huge thank you to Coach Ty for taking the reigns the last two days!

Rough day today, one bad inning did us in. Love the fight in the boys. Go win tomorrow, we will be 3-1 for the weekend.

Excellent evening of baseball for the Boys. Won both games. Capped off the second game with a walk off double.

Day 1 to our first weekend, was very good. They played good baseball, went 1 and 1 on the day giving up a combined 4 runs. Lost to a very good team and came back better to win the second game 8-0. Waiting to see if we made bracket for tomorrow.
