The problem with love, is that it also inherently involves sorrow. The greater the love, the more profound the sorrow…

Heaven got a whole lot brighter on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, when my friend Laura McMullen Farmer walked through the gates.

Laura was the perfect combination of fun, beauty, compassion and strength, all wrapped up into the most perfect, tiny little package. She was our Midge.

If you pray, please pray for everyone who loved her. We are hurting. Pray for her daughters and her husband. For her mom and brother. For her mother and father in-law, her sisters-in-law, her niece and nephew. For her extended family. Her many, many friends. Her students and fellow teachers. Her entire community. She leaves a lasting legacy with the impact that she made on our lives.

My life will not be the same without you in it, Midge. You’re my girl, my bestie. You, Catherine and I have been three peas in a pod for as long as I can remember. I am so so grateful for the 30+ years that we have been friends, and still, it is not enough. I want more time. I want more laughs. I want to spend time with my friend when things are good and when things are hard. I’m not ready for the memories to end…

Until we meet again. I love you.

How often do you get to the end of a week or the end of a month and feel like you’ve been busy, but you haven’t moved the needle on what is most important for you, your team and your organization?

If your answer sounded like, “More often than I’d like to admit,” you aren’t alone. In fact, I’ve found myself in this exact position many times in the past.

It is easy to get stuck in a cycle of checking items off our lists that are easiest to tackle or that are urgent for someone else.

When without even realizing it, we are sacrificing what is most important to US and to OUR GOALS.

As we start this new week and this new month, now is the perfect time to make sure you are building the life YOU want – personally and professionally.

My client and friend Michelle Petrenko always says, “Hope is not a strategy.”

So let’s get clear on your strategy to get you where you want to go.

Ask yourself these 5 questions:

1️⃣ Where do I really want to be at the end of 2025?
2️⃣ What is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing for me to focus on this week to get closer to where I want to be?  Think it. Write it down. Say it out loud.
3️⃣ What is 1 ACTION I will take this week that gets me one step closer to where I want to be?
4️⃣ Looking at my calendar and my existing commitments, when will I do this?
5️⃣ How did I do this week? On Friday, check in and BE REAL with yourself.

Celebrate or adjust and create your plan for the following week.

These 5 simple questions help me and my clients change the way we work.

Try it and share in the comments how things go.  If it helps, let us celebrate with you.  If it needs work, schedule a session and let’s look at alternate strategies.

It’s time to shine! ✨

Buster Boo Jones joined the family this Friday, December 6.

He is equal parts love bug, goof ball and wild man. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Big thank you to for helping us find our guy. We love him already. ❤️

So grateful for the years I spent in Austin TX and the way that time made me step out of my comfort zone and really start to think about what I wanted in my life and who I wanted to be.

Big a shout out to the ATX running community. It was so good to be back on the trails around Town Lake this weekend in the city where I learned to love to run.

I am feeling very fortunate for the work I get to do with amazing female leaders in the automotive industry that brought me back. 💪🏼💪🏼

❤️ Austin ❤️

We’ll call this chapter: JP goes to college! ❤️

📸 Tokyo

For as long as I can remember, JP has wanted to go to Japan.

Years ago, a client asked him, “If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?”

Without hesitation, he responded, “Japan!”

Client looked puzzled. And said, “Japan? Why?”

JP replied, “They have everything I love: sushi, ramen, anime and Nintendo!”

That and so much more. ❤️

His graduation trip was a trip of a lifetime, not only because of where we went, who we met and what we experienced, but because the three of us were able to spend two weeks, experiencing something new together before he leaves for school next month.

A good friend of mine says, “Book the trip. Take the time. You won’t regret it.” She’s 💯 right and I wouldn’t trade this time for anything in the world.

More to come…
