River Valley and Elgin Swim Teams

The River Valley and Elgin swim teams competed their sectional meets on Saturday. The boys swam at Columbus Academy and the girls swam at Columbus School for Girls. Both groups performed well! 71% of the girls' swims were personal records and 85% of the boys' swims were PRs! Congratulations to all!

Two school records were broken at this meet:

Boy's 200 Medley Relay set a new record at 1:56.15, breaking the previous record of 1:58.40

Braden LeVois broke his own record in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:01.25

I am so proud of these kids and all they have accomplished this year! Good luck as we go into Sectionals! Go Vikes!

January 8th was Senior Night for Elgin and RV at Elgin's home meet! The RV Girls finished 2nd, the Boys won and RV won the combined meet! Elgin finished 4th overall and for the boys and girls events. Great job everyone!

Notably:
The Co-ed 200 Medley Relay Team of LeVois, Cameron, Deem and Beineke set a new school record of 1:59.51. The previous record was 2:06.24

The Co-ed 400 Freestyle Relay Team of LeVois, Colette Osborne, Beineke and Deem set a new school record of 4:15.97. The previous record was 5:47.07

On January 4th RV and Elgin swam at Harding's home meet.
RV finished second in the Girl's, Boy's and Combined competition. Elgin Girls finished 5th. The boys finished 6th. Combined they tied for 5th place.
Hilliard Darby, RV, Harding, Mt. Gilead, Elgin and Wynford competed at the meet.

River Valley and Elgin swam at Pleasant's home meet last night.

RV finished in second in the Boys', Girls' and Combined overall scoring.

Elgin finished sixth in the Boys' and seventh in the Girls' and Combined overall scoring.

1st Place: Karis Beineke 100 Butterfly and 100 Breatstroke, Andrew Deem 100 Freestyle and Braden LeVois 100 backstroke

3rd Place: Jacob Faust 50 Freestyle, Erica Mason 500 Freestyle and Hager Adams 500 Freestyle

The boys' 200 Medley Relay team of LeVois, Laytart, Deem and McCall took second place.

The boys' 200 Freestyle Relay team of Levois, Adams, Linville and Deem took 3rd place.

The girls' 400 Freestyle Relay team of Ferguson, Hildreth, Young and Mason took 3rd place.

OK, so this guy did it again! Braden LeVois broke his own RV Highschool record for the 100 Backstroke! He swam a 1:03.89 today, beating his own record of 1:04.72! Congratulations Braden! Keep it up!

The RV and Elgin teams participated in the Small Teams Invitational at Kenyon College today. 18 teams swam today. Our teams did very well!
Overall, RV finished 5th and Elgin finished 17th
Girls, RV finished 6th
Boys, RV finished 4th and Elgin finished 12th

It's early, but this is already a record breaking season! Braden LeVois (So) set a new River Valley record in the 100 yard Backstroke at Ontario on November 26th. Braden swam a 1:04.72 passing the old record of 1:05.25. Congratulations Braden! Keep it up!

River Valley held a home swim meet today with Elgin, Wynford and Harding. RV won the Girls, Boys and Combined! Go Vikes!
