The tournament didn’t end the way we wanted, but our young men pushed through a lot of adversity and toughed it out. We were a mostly 13 year old team (with a few 14 and 15 year olds) and played bigger and older teams.

As they continue to play sports (and life in general) they’ll always face adversity. How they respond it will help determine their success. As coaches, we don’t like getting the loss, but we are super proud of how they handled themselves. We are definitely excited about watching these young men continue to grow, both mentally and physically. Most of these young men will play multiple sports this coming year in 8th grade along the few in high school and we’ll be excited to watch and encourage them.

To the parents: Thank you for the opportunity and privilege of coaching your son. We’d pick the same team again if we had to play the tournament over. They’re definitely a special group of kids.
