129 Athletics has been closed for some time. If you are interested in lifting in an environment with serious powerlifters, including Special Olympics lifters, we are at Power Partners connected to Get Fit on East Broadway in Maryville.

Big day of lifting at the 129 Athletics Power Partners Competition today. Special Olympics athletes from 129 Athletics and Memphis battled for placing in the squat, benchpress and deadlift. Special thanks to all that traveled long distances (especially the Krebs Team from Memphis) and helped make the competition a success as Power Partners, coaches, referees, spotter/loaders and scoring. Thank you Clint Poore for a great job announcing and running the score table, Angela and Chris Miles for helping with scoring and spotting/loading, Robert and Hunter Ogle for spotting/loading and lifting as a partner (Hunter). Matt Blankenship, Ashlei Hand and Derik Hultquist for refereeing. Also thank you Kent Davis, Holland Millsaps and John Evans for doing such a great job coaching and lifting as a partner for Brad Davis (Holland). And especially thanks to partners Luke Summerall and Hunter Ogle for stepping in to partner with Josh Evans and Noah Myers respectively. It was so much fun lifting as a partner to Zach McMurray (first picture). Zach never gives up. What a day!

It was great to watch the Special Olympics lifters do so well at the International Powerlifting Federations 2019 Open World Championship in Dubai, UAE this week. The lifters from USA/Georgia that also lifted with us this past summer at 129 Athletics all won gold medals in their weight classes. The pictures are from our meet and the IPF Worlds this weekend. Proud to know them!!

A little late in posting but very proud of 129 Athletic members and Power Partners who lifted at the USAPL Kentucky State Meet recently in Somerset. Brad Davis has a PR in Squat and Benchpress while Power Panther Holland Millsaps had PRs in Squat and Deadlift. Congratulations Brad and Holland!

Congratulations to Matt Blankenship, founder of 129 Athletics for winning gold in the sn**ch, clean and Jerk and total today in 81 kilo class at the International Weightlifting Associations Masters World Championship in Montreal, Canada. Matt worked incredibly hard in less than ideal conditions (that means training in 90 degree plus temperatures) to emerge today as the best in the World in his division. Proud to know you Matt!!
