Rio is a May 2012 16.1 hh Thoroughbred gelding (Indygo Shiner x Mille Lacs). Rio is a steady, consistent horse that aims to please. He tends to be more of a whoa than go type of horse suitable for young riders and adult amateurs. He does not need ridden daily to keep him sane. He has done really well up to the Novice level of eventing with potential to go Training level. He loves dressage and could go straight dressage as well. He is the horse that you know exactly his strengths and weaknesses at every show. Once you learn how he likes to be ridden, he will be your steady-eddy! He has had some time off due to my schedule and deserves a rider that can give him a lot of love and attention. He currently lives out 24/7 with only front shoes. Rio is a 2012 unraced thoroughbred gelding. He has competed up to novice level eventing. He's schooling training level eventing and second level dressage. He loves flat work! He's mostly more of a kick ride but requires a soft, intermediate level rider. The lease would be ideal for an amateur level rider not in a position to fully own their own horse. He requires a more experienced rider over fences but with a soft, quiet rider he's very eager. USEA show name is Bold Reality.

This past Saturday was spent down in the Chattanooga/North Ga area teaching a clinic at the Robinette's private farm. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the riders and horses!

It was quite the weekend at River Glen Equestrian Park! I'll start off by saying I'm so proud of my students and my horses. Everyone came and conquered firsts at their levels or improved from the show before.

I rode Rio in the novice division for his second novice ht. He was a total professional and just blew me away with his bravery and heart! He got a 31 in dressage and only added one rail to his final score. He rocked around xc like it was the best thing ever! He ended up 4th and I couldn't be prouder of him!

Donovan competed in the open prelim division. He had a decent dressage test and double clear stadium round to land him in 4th going into xc. Out on xc, he was extremely bold and jumped it all with ease. Unfortunately, I made a huge mistake and galloped past one of our easiest fences on course 😭 I didn't know I had missed a jump until I finished the course. Ugh!! He would've been 3rd so I'm just going to say donovan earned 3rd and his mom earned a TE. I am still so mad at myself.

Bree Robinette and Velvet completed their first novice together with a 2nd place finish! They had a 29.8 in dressage and just one rail in stadium. Whitney Massengale and Dalton had a great result in the BN to finish on their dressage score earning a 4th place ribbon! Kathryn Greenfield took two horses out at BN. Astro finished the weekend in 6th with an improved dressage test and solid xc round. Her other ride Mo conquered his first BN with a few bobbles but gained a ton of confidence by the end of the weekend.
