Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for those who gave everything to protect the freedoms we enjoy each day.

Their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to something greater than themselves will never be forgotten. We honor not only those we lost, but also the families who carry their memory forward.

May we take a moment today to remember the fallen, reflect on their sacrifice, and live in a way that honors their legacy.

What an incredible night for the McKinney Ice Hockey Club!

Last night’s MIHC Awards Banquet was a perfect celebration of our season a night filled with pride, gratitude, and community. We recognized our amazing players for their hard work and development, our dedicated coaches for their leadership, and our parents and board members for their tireless support throughout the year.

One of the most special moments of the evening was our Senior Tribute, where we shared heartfelt letters from parents to their graduating players and messages from our seniors to their families. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as we celebrated their journeys both on and off the ice.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success and to the entire MIHC family for another unforgettable season. We’re so proud of each of you and can’t wait to see what’s next for our seniors and returning players alike!

McKinney Ice Hockey is excited to unveil our bold new Summer 2026 strategy: an All-Goalie Team!

That’s right every. single. player. between the pipes. Six goalies on the ice at all times, all in full pads, all insisting they’re “actually forwards now. ”Opponents are already updating their playbooks to “Dump the puck in, grind in the corner, and still not score.”

Rumor has it:
• Our penalty kill is just five goalies forming a wall at the blue line.
• Our breakout is one goalie passing to…another goalie…who passes to…another goalie.
• Shots against: 0. Shots blocked by leg pads accidentally: 473.

Don’t worry, parents no position changes are permanent, and skaters are still very much needed for real rosters!

McKinney Ice Hockey Club is excited to welcome Coach Ken Atkinson to our coaching staff for the upcoming season!

Coach Atkinson brings decades of experience in North Texas hockey, including head coaching roles at JP2, Coppell, and Plano Senior High, as well as a long tenure with the Dallas Junior Hockey Association developing players at multiple levels. His coaching philosophy emphasizes hard work, skating development, and using the game to build character and life skills on and off the ice.
