I have been going here for almost 3 years. I don't think I have ever had a workout and left that I have not felt it the next day. The biggest reason I like it is because you have your privacy and you are not watching what someone else does nor is anyone watching you. You come in workout and leave feeling good about what you done. The trainer Lucas is great he allows you the opportunity to try out the difference machines and assist you with what you want to improve on. I would highly recommend anyone at least giving them a try.

Say hello to Becky, she is 75 years young. On a recent trip to the grocery store she got down to retrieve an item from the bottom shelf then realized she didn't have enough strength in her legs to get back up. She had to use her hands to climb the shelves to stand up. She decided to give weight lifting a try. Here she on the leg press and loving it! The day after her first workout she messaged me and said "Last night after we worked out I felt so good emotionally- it's hard to explain, but it was a feeling I'd like to have all the time". Feeling happy is a nice side effect of working out. Thank you, Becky. Knowing you left feeling joyful makes my heart sing.

[07/10/18]   Here is a nice refreshing tidbit of information on a hot summer day. Did you know that drinking 16 oz of ice cold water burns about 17 calories? I know that doesn't sound like much, but in comparison, a 123-pound female would have to walk about 6 Minutes To burn 16 calories!
Do your body a favor in more ways than one today and grab an ice water.

[06/11/18]   At The Fitness Barn we do things differently than other gyms in the region. We practice the fundamentals of high intensity training. These concepts have a long history of safety and effectiveness, requiring only a small amount of time in the gym. Basically, what it comes down to is lifting heavy weight, in a slow and controlled manner for a short amount of time. Don't be scared by the term 'heavy weight,' what I mean by heavy is what is heavy for you. If you're someone who struggles to lift 20 pounds then 20 pounds is heavy for you. Everyone who comes through our door is treated as an individual, whatever your personal level of fitness is, we start there and the goal is progression. Let's talk about the time I mentioned before. You will be surprised to learn that you can get results in as little as 30 minutes a week.

Now, to the best part of all about coming to The Fitness Barn, your sessions will be PRIVATE, just you and the trainer! Private, one-on-one personal training on the best equipment around. whats sad is how common training practices like these are in gyms across america. I always am fascinated when im at a commercial gym by observing the ways in which people train..Other than being pathetically ineffective it is frighteningly dangerous. im sure other experienced weightlifters can think of people in their local gyms who could have been on this video..i sure hope none of these poorly informed people got hurt in any of this !

Rare and hard to find it meets up to its reputation as the best pure stock ( unmodified) seated row machine made.. A great feel in the lats, very safe to perform - the strength curve is perfect and complete exhaustion can be achieved while keeping your chest on the pad.. Ours is equipped with a superslow block which makes the strength curve's initial dropoff in the contracted position dead on correct.. A wonderful piece to add to our facility..
We also have a major announcement pending about our acquisition of quite possibly our most important piece of equipment to date- our clients will have access to a machine that will change their lives and has only heretofore been available in medical rehabilitation centers.. More to come in the next few weeks

[03/07/12]   “…the lifting of weights is so much superior for the purpose of improving the cardiovascular condition of a human being that whatever is in second place is not even in the running, no pun intended. That is to say, running is a very poor, a very dangerous, a very slow, a very inefficient, a very nonproductive method for eventually producing a very limited, low order of cardiovascular benefit. Any, ANY, result that can be produced by any amount of running can be duplicated and surpassed by the proper use of weight lifting for cardiovascular benefits. Now I realize that there are hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of people in this country who don’t understand that, who don’t believe that, who will not admit that. Now these people are simply uninformed. Certainly, it’s possible to run with no benefit, it’s possible to weight train with no benefit. I’m talking about the proper use of weights; and properly applied, weight training will improve your cardiovascular benefit to a degree that is impossible to attain with any amount of running.”

[03/07/12]   We have 2 unique new weighttraining machines coming to " The Barn Personal Training Center"..a rare and hard to find Nautilus next generation Superforearm machine is coming. This rare machine has 5 diffferent exercises on a small footprint including grip, supination,pronation,wrist curls and reverse wrist curls. the other rare piece we have coming is the Nautilus powerplus leg press machine..although we have the best leg machines in the buisness in our medx leg press, medx aveneger leg press, and our nautilus duo squat, this addition of the nautilus powerplus will enable us to add wonderful variety to our clients leg workouts. the powerplus is known to be very easy on the knees and is best used working 1 leg at a time. the powerplus is known in the industry for being a fantastic hip and glute machine and we look forward to offering it for our clients use in the next 2-3 weeks...
