If you still feel guilty about your soulmate animal’s passing — even though part of you KNOWS you did nothing wrong — this is for you.
And even if you did make a human mistake, this is for you too. ❤️
Because guilt after losing an animal doesn’t run on logic.
You can have ten people tell you:
“You did everything you could.”
“They knew how much you loved them.”
“You gave them an incredible life.”
And you can KNOW they’re right…
while somewhere deeper inside, your body is still screaming:
I failed them.
And that’s where guilt can become something even more painful:
Shame.
Guilt says: I did something wrong.
Shame says: There’s something wrong with me.
I should have known.
I should have done more.
I should have noticed sooner.
I made the wrong decision.
I failed the one being I loved more than anything.
And that shame can be incredibly isolating.
Because we would never look at someone who gave absolutely everything they had to something and call them a failure.
And yet that’s exactly what so many of us do to ourselves after losing our animals.
We gave them our ALL.
We rearranged our lives for them.
We worried about them.
We protected them.
We researched.
We made impossible decisions.
We stayed up at night.
We loved them with everything we had.
And yes, sometimes we made mistakes.
Because we are human.
We were never designed to love perfectly.
Maybe part of being human is making mistakes so that we can finally learn what compassion and forgiveness actually mean.
But when our soulmate animal dies, somehow all of that humanity can disappear.
And instead of remembering a lifetime of love, our mind finds one moment, one decision, one thing we wish we had done differently…
and puts our entire relationship on trial.
That is not healing.
And you probably won’t think your way out of it.
Because guilt and shame aren’t simply asking to be reasoned with.
They’re asking to be felt, understood, held with compassion, and finally released.
That’s a completely different process.
This Saturday, I’m holding a free 90-minute live gathering devoted to exactly this:
Why guilt and shame can become so consuming after pet loss, why they can stay with us even when we logically know we did everything we could, and how we can begin to actually release them from the body instead of endlessly trying to argue with them in our minds.
Comment GUILT to join us. It’s free.
There’ll be live Q&A, too. ❤️
And when you register, you’ll receive The Blue Healer book free — whether you join us live or simply watch the recording afterward.

If guilt has had a grip on your heart since your baby died…maybe it’s time to stop putting yourself on trial.
Maybe it’s time to let their love back in. ❤️🐾

📷 : me and Fenix after Ellie passed… (Ellie was my daughter that passed away when she was only 6 months old. We had to let her go because she was in pain and fear with multiple declining brain conditions)
Fenix was so sad (even though he was telling me often he didn’t want her to stay — he likes being a one child family) and words can’t express how much pain I was in. I just wanted to stay in bed and be with Fenix all day.
Hope to see you Saturday xoxox.
Love Fenix’ mum Dr Zoë Lumiere 👩🦰
