Good evening FB family. Let’s hear it for your Whitehaven Tigers- City and District champs! On Monday at 4:30 at Whitehaven High School they will begin competing for the Regional title. They would love to see and hear your cheers in support. They deserve it! Coach Galvin Sims has worked hard to make sure these young men get every opportunity to play the game they love at the highest level of competition . So come out and see some great baseball against Houston High.

We came up short on Thursday but the cream of the crop always rises to the top!

Congratulations to Jerry Willis on being named Player of the Week for the week of April 25-May 1! Jerry is a junior and we look forward to an amazing senior year of baseball for him!

Congratulations to Galvin Sims Jr for winning Player of the Week for the week of April 11-17! Galvin received a scholarship and will be attending Dyersburg State Community College in the fall! We are so proud of you!

And they did it again! The team gained another victory in a 7-1 win. Afterwards, we enjoyed the U of M baseball team as they played UT Martin. We had a wonderful evening of baseball, family and friends!

The team travelled to Mayfield, KY to compete in the 2022 Dingerwood Bat Classic April 22-April 23. And of course, in true tiger baseball form, we were the ONLY team to go 3-0! Our players played their hearts outs! Thanks Coach Mario for the motivation! (Insider) From the nail biting “over-at-9:30pm” 1-0 game, to the parents donning their new shirts (they looked great), to our OH SO AWESOME fan base that is envied world wide for how we support and cheer on our young men and the mounds of fun we have while doing it, it was a blast!

This group of young men is truly amazing. They are scholars, respectful, respected by their peers, and loved by their teachers. Many of them are active in their churches, holding positions of leadership and oh yeah…some dern good baseball players! Y’all better wake up and see what’s going on!

SO yesterday we did a thing! We celebrated our 2021-2022 Senior baseball players! It’s was an unforgettable evening filled with tears, laughter and oh yeah…A WIN! All of the seniors played for Whitehaven their entire high school baseball career under the direction of Coach Sims! They were gifted with their framed original 9th grade jersey (explains the wear and tear), baseballs signed by the entire team and coaching staff, a gift basket, including each of their own individual favorite treats, and a gift bag from booster parents Mr. and Mrs. Sherman and Toleda Burton. The team (and anyone who wanted) were treated to pizza by one of our team granddads, Mr. “Papa” Vasquez! The most amazing gift is them being the first class to receive the Galvin Sims OOPS Scholarship! This presentation is meant to award the scholar-athletes for their work academically and to motivate their up and coming teammates to continue to excel and strive for academic excellence. Each of our seniors are attending college in the fall with FULL scholarships either academic or athletic (and some both) to their various colleges and universities.

Let’s go tigers! 21-4! And we ain’t done yet!
