At a writer's conference last year, I won the award for Best Brand Demonstration.

How?

I'm glad you asked!

Everyone from authors to literary agents to branding strategists praised my display and the mission and message behind it....

No one had to ask me what the title or my book was nor where my table was!

Why?

I was branded from the SECOND I came in the door 😂

This is why I say your book is meant to collect dollars and not dust!

Whether you have 1 or 101, it matters not!

You're a movement by yourself, yes, but you'll be a force when you get your book together!

Question #9: How did you come up with the colors for GGEAC?

Canva!

I was looking for a graphic to use on social media and came across a mood board (which I conveniently couldn't find for this post, but I digress) and came across one that made me pause....

Then my mind often goes back to how I had what seems to be a perfectly placed pad of teal sticky notes on that January Saturday in 2021 😂

So, when I tell people that God and Canva chose my brand colors, I'm not being funny...for once!

Since then, I've let the colors pretty much take over because they're pretty!

I did a whole birthday photo shoot in those colors and then Build A Bear only made it worse 😂

And I blame Amazon for the teal cookie jar....just saying!

It's not going anywhere either!

Question #8: What are 5 words that describe GGEAC?

🍪 Unapologetic -- Each book and brand piece means what it says and says what it means unapologetically on purpose with a smile on its face and, more importantly, a 🍪 in each hand!

🍪 Mirror -- Each book is going to show you yourself and why you need to focus on you!

🍪 Firestarter -- Each book is going to start some mess, especially when yoh start moving differently, so get ready!

🍪 Nosy -- Each book is going to find all the stuff you don't want people to see!

🍪 Timeless -- Each book is one you can reread over time and still get something from them!

Question #7: When writing GGEAC, what feeling were you looking to pull from the reader? Relief? Energy? Motivation? Inspiration? Hope?

Word of the Day; Neracity
Meaning (per my youngest who made up the word); Nerve + Audacity = Neracity
Example: "She said WHAT?! The NERACITY! The unmitigated GALL!"

This is my GGEAC Tribe's new favorite word 😂!

But, to answer the question....

GGEAC is a mixed bag of all of this!

How?

🍪It lets you know you're not crazy and that what you think you see happening really is, which means you've got work to do!

That's relief!

🍪It tells you almost prexactly what you NEED to do to remedy the situation that you see and what could happen if you don't while showing you what happens when you do....

That's energy!

🍪It shows you that setbacks and knockdowns don't have to KEEP YOU DOWN! I tell my stories in each bo not to brag or make myself the standard, but to show you what's possible when your problems don't have you!

That's motivation!

🍪It helps you to reshape your why....

That's inspiration!

🍪It helps you to smile and clap for YOSELF!

That's hope!

.. but you don't have to take my word for it!

Question #6: What makes GGEAC different?

Look at the three pictures below....

They are the same woman.
After the same occasion....
But with a different mindset....
..and the different mindset is what makes GGEAC different.

I was released from multiple sclerosis protocol on September 10, 2020.

The first picture (red cardigan) was taken in November 2020 when I was working to regain my footing with my life, family, ministry, education, business, and career -- I felt that updated pics was the first thing I needed!

The second picture (laughing) was taken in January 2021 when I legit stopped caring about what people thought about me, my mission, my message, and my brand for that matter -- I became more about being TAMMIE and showing TAMMIE in what I did, cookies and all!

The third picture (GGEAC shirt) was when I tested my resolve. My husband told me I couldn't go into a networking event in that shirt and my response was, "You can if said networking event is at a woman owned bakery!" -- a few hours later, I was all over their website AND social media in said shirt!

If you let GGEAC do what it's meant to do, you won't be the same woman for sure! You will HATE me once you see what starts coming up for you, but my job will be done and I'm okay with that....

So, if you are TRULY ready to stand in front of the mirror with a layer peeler and do the work you NEED to do, I'm introducing something tomorrow that will help you do just that!

Question #5: When writing GGEAC, who were you writing this book for?

This book is for the woman who experiences setbacks and knockdowns for sure, but with a layer of accountability, too!

It was written during one of the toughest times of my life and, once I was done, I didn't pen another WORD until February 2022....

I wanted women to understand that we miss things that can lead to other things going wrong....

For example, I talk about how we will take something away from a child who doesn't say thank you or we won't replace something they don't take care of.

We act the same way and then get mad because we lose access to that person, place, thing, or even idea!

And the first thing we do is say what he, she, it, them, and they did....

..but that's not the issue.

..that's not the real issue.

The issue is US and how WE messed it up, but we're not going to say that....

..and that's why I wrote the book!

Question #4: Did writing GGEAC energize or exhaust you?

Both!

I was happy to get it done, but it was a labor of love mixed with some hard obedience....

I tell my readers all the time that I cried writing it, so I get it when you say you cried reading it and, even now, I cry when I teach through it!

But, if you ask me to speak about it, I got you!

I'm going to ask you're serious first, but I got you!

This book has taken over my life and that's okay....

I just remember the three things that got me through, which just so happens to be one of the chapter titles.

Grace.
Naps.
And
Cookies!

It's one book I don't talk about in happy, fluffy terms when you ask me about it.

I often tell people that people don't like you if they give you The 7 Virtuous Business Woman Slayers: 7 Deadly Copouts, but they REALLY don't like you if they give you GGEAC because they are definitely trying to tell you something!

That's why I include cookie mix in every GGEAC box....

Question #3: What was your writing process like when writing GGEAC?

I wrote the book first and wrote a chapter a day until I wrote them all.

I didn't have an outline of any kind....

I wrote what came to me at the time and left it at that.

It wasn't easy because I battled with what I was writing myself, but I was determined to finish.

Writing the workbook was just as hard, but one thing I was sure to do was make it to where you didn't need the book to do the exercises.

I didn't want the "follow along and fill in the blank" process for this one....

I wanted people to do as the subtitle said and handle business!

I have had people to buy the workbook first, thinking they could ease into the book, but they soon found out it didn't work that way....

Question #2: How long did it take you to write GGEAC?

I started on February 5th, 2021, finished on February 15th, 2021, and sent it to be edited by Angie West before submitting for publishing -- that's TEN DAYS!

From there, I got a little extra:

🍪The paperback book (57 pages) went live on February 20th, 2021
🍪The Kindle book went live on February 22nd, 2021
🍪The workbook (65 pages) went live on February 23rd, 2021
🍪The hardcover book (75 pages) went live on September 19th, 2021 when Amazon introduced hardcovers
🍪The USB audio recordings were done in October 2022 after I was informed that a young lady in a group I presented to was blind

As for the cover, these pictures were taken at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis on a reiny January morning and I asked my photographer, Jd Westbrook, for his opinion on which pictures to use on the covers.

They were taken before I heard the message and in the same spot.

The facial expressions are different because I was all cute first (workbook pic) and then he made me laugh (book pic) 😂!

I used Canva for the cover and got help from Suzan David with resizing on all of them.

GGEAC proves that a book doesn't have to be long to make an impact nor does it take long to write....

But that's just ME!

I'm going live in the Girl, Go Eat A COOKIE! VIW Group at 8:30 PM CST tonight, but I want to get the questions rolling!

#1: How did you come up with the concept of GGEAC?

I heard a message during a preacher's conference that changed my life....

It was about how the Apostle Paul was stoned and left for dead, but got up, dusted himself off, and finished the work God sent him to do.

At the time, I was under 9 different doctor's care because of multiple sclerosis.

I'd not too long regained the use of my hands and my ability to walk on that day in January 2021.

As I sat listening to the message, I began to cry and then I texted my husband to tell him that God allowed ME to get up from MY knockdown!

After telling God that I would be obedient to whatever reason there was for this message, I grabbed a pack of teal sticky notes and wrote down his 5 main points and their scriptures.

I then took another sticky note and wrote the words grace, naps, and cookies on it.

I knew I was supposed to do something with this....

As for the title, I'm known for telling people they need a cookie and a nap, so it seemed fitting to use that for the title in some way 😂

I started writing GGEAC the next week and doing so ripped my heart out....

I KNEW this book was going to get me in MORE trouble than the Slayers EVER could, so I had to be ready....

I've gotta get ready for church now, but I'll be posting another question later today!

It's early on this stormy Saturday morning in Memphis, but I'm excited!

Tomorrow is the start of one of my favorite weeks of the year, Girl, Go Eat A Cookie Week!
