Ballot Box Biology! Polis and his husband are ruining this state.

On Friday, our team began operations to bring up to 15 gray wolves to Colorado from British Columbia 🐺

The wolves will be captured and transported in crates to Colorado, collared, and released as soon as possible once they arrive at select sites in Garfield, Eagle and/or Pitkin counties. We plan to release 10-15 wolves on the Western Slope per year, for 3-5 years, as outlined in our Colorado Wolf Restoration and Management Plan.

Adding these wolves to the state will increase the likelihood of pairing, breeding and pack formation. This will allow us to monitor the population better as packs form and defend territories, and help us work with agricultural producers to minimize conflicts.

Had this dude chasing a bull within 20 yards of us today. Awesome experience but would have been better with a bull tag. The cow spotted us but the bull didn’t smell or see us at all. Would have been perfect!

This is just getting ridiculous at this point. Polis and his husband are ruining this state and the wildlife

We have captured and relocated the Copper Creek wolf pack (six wolves: one adult female, one adult male and four pups) to a secure enclosure with limited human interaction to balance the pack's and Colorado communities' needs.

The adult male was found in poor condition, with several injuries to his right hind leg, unrelated to the capture. Our staff administered antibiotics to address infections from his injury. Four days after transport, our biologists received a mortality signal from the adult male’s collar and the animal was confirmed to be deceased. Based on his condition, our staff believes that it was unlikely the wolf would have survived for very long in the wild. A post-mortem examination will be conducted.

Our decision to capture the Copper Creek pack focuses on minimizing losses to agriculture producers while ensuring the wolves' health, safety, and well-being as we work towards a viable gray wolf population in Colorado. Our main focus is on a healthy release of the remaining members of the Copper Creek pack. We will not be sharing their location for the safety of the animals and staff.

There are additional details that are important to understand about our relocation of the Copper Creek wolf pack so we encourage you to read our full details now: https://cpw.info/3XCfluQ
