Passive recovery techniques like massage, manipulation, stretching, etc... are helpful.
(We use them with our patients)
They DO assist in recovery, and can feel really good in the process!
But, an ACTIVE recovery is better than just a PASSIVE recovery.
Ultimately, incorporating the right movements (strengthening, mobility, etc...) will give you the longterm solutions to pain and injury that you're looking for.
Most people will benefit from a combination of methods, but too many people neglect the importance of movement in the recovery process.
Movement Is Medicine.

➡️This is one of our favorite exercises to work that rotator cuff—
✅ It’s a great one to work up to for building strength and resilience to get back pain-free shoulder function.
TRUCK DRIVERS & JUMPING JACKS
📌Keep forearms vertical
📌Don’t arch your back
📌If you have pain as you go up, don’t go so high. If you can go higher, go higher.
📌Shoulder blade should be set back and not forward
🔑As you progress through the exercise, your forearm will want to lean forward— Don’t let it! Fight hard to keep it vertical.
