𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟏𝟐 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐧𝐲𝐞 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞:

Today was filled with 6 different tests to make sure Britt is ready for transplant and about 10 tubes of blood.

To say it was overwhelming is an understatement, but we made some GREAT progress!

First, I have to brag on the entire Sarah Cannon medical staff and team. They went above and beyond and made a long, stressful day so much easier for us.

We learned Britt’s hemoglobin is as low as it has ever been, so we have to stay an unexpected extra day for her to receive 2 units of blood tomorrow morning.

That explains why my girl has been so tired lately, but after that transfusion she’s gonna be a NEW WOMAN! 😁

Then came the news we have been praying for…

𝐖𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐀 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄!

𝑺𝑬𝑷𝑻𝑬𝑴𝑩𝑬𝑹 𝟐𝟗𝑻𝑯… 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑫𝑶𝑵𝑶𝑹 𝑰𝑺 𝑨 𝟏𝟎/𝟏𝟎 𝑴𝑨𝑻𝑪𝑯!! 🙏😭🧡

That brought happy tears from us and everyone around us.

I’m still cautiously optimistic after what happened with the last donor, but everyone has a really good feeling about this one.

We have A LOT happening over the next month — another bone marrow biopsy, possibly another round of healing juice, more appointments, and then we return to Nashville September 22nd to begin everything leading up to transplant.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲. ❤️

We may not celebrate like we normally would, but we’ll celebrate the best way possible — just being together.

September 29th becomes 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐙𝐄𝐑𝐎 & 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐃𝐀𝐘.

After that, we’re expecting around 30 days in the hospital followed by approximately 70 days at Hope Lodge.

I’m not going to lie…the last 10–14 days I have been freaking out.

I’ve questioned whether I’m doing enough for her and worried that we’re running out of time to get everything done. Even with her amazing nurses reassuring me, I just couldn’t shut the worry off.

But today we left feeling GOOD.

September 29th may begin the toughest ride of our lives, but every single day after that is one day closer to getting my baby girl her second chance at life.

And believe me…
𝐖𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. ❤️

God answered some BIG prayers today.

No matter how long this road gets or what it takes…

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟖𝟓 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐧𝐲𝐞 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞:

Things are about to get moving again.

Next up:
• More Chemo (“Healing Juice”)
• More Tests
• Bone Marrow Transplant Preparation

Next week Brittnye starts another round of Healing Juice and another week in the hospital. This could be her last round before the bone marrow transplant.

We also got a call from Sara Cannon Center who will be doing the transplant. We have a lot of testing scheduled on August 20th and August 25th to make sure she’s cleared and ready for transplant.

After that, we’ll begin the bone marrow transplant process.

That means moving to Nashville for more than 100 days and staying at the Hope Lodge directly across from the hospital.

If we’re being honest, this is the part we’ve been preparing for… and the part that scares us the most.

We’ve been told the first 30 days after transplant are the most critical, so we’re asking for your prayers more than ever for Brittnye, for me, and for our families. We know there will be difficult days ahead, but we also know we won’t face them alone.

After those first 30 days, we’ll remain in Nashville for another 70 days while she continues to be monitored and tested regularly.

The next several months will bring every emotion imaginable, but we’re going to approach them the same way we’ve approached every day since this journey began:

• One day at a time.
• Smile on the good days and the hard days.
• Dance whenever she has the energy.
• Never let go of each other’s hand.

There are still a lot of unknowns ahead…

But one thing has never changed.

WE WILL WIN.
