Grab the jackets and the kids and head out to USA Stadium as we welcome the Middle Tennessee Monarchs! A rivalry spanning the life of our program, this is always a favorite face off. Nashville Monarchs are a homeschool program much like the Eagles who we face 2 times a season, and then see again in FL at the HWSA Baseball tournament.

JV Games Cancelled for tonight

Last night the Varsity Eagles went 1-1 vs the Knights of WMCS.
A ground rule double by junior Jayce Griffith, brought in two runs giving the Eagles the W in game 1.
Game 2, the Eagles bats were out matched by the Knights, who came out on top, 3-0

Finishing out the introductions to our varsity staff, we’d like to introduce you to our “numbers man”… Nic Penny.

Nic is a native of Oakland, TN and grew up in Tupelo, MS. He is a sports fanatic, but enjoys baseball the most. He has coached within the MHEA Baseball program since 2019 and has volunteered in Somerville with the Dixie and Diamond Youth league.

His love for the game came from his father and brother who traveled around North Mississippi with several teams. Nic’s enthusiasm and interest for data and analytics drives his passion, after all we know baseball is a game of numbers and we are thankful for Nic’s attention to detail.

Coach Nic’s favorite saying is “flush it”, as a reminder to keep battling even when things don’t go your way. Baseball is a game of failure, but his favorite part of the game is seeing young men take those failures and turn them into life lessons.
