Hi!👋
My name is Kristi and I’m a certified personal trainer and advanced social worker in Wisconsin helping to educate others on living with hypermobility and lipedema!
Lipedema is a chronic condition and presents has abnormal fat accumulation on the lower extremities. Typically, Lipedema progresses during hormonal changes: puberty, pregnancies, menopause.
You might notice pain to touch, heaviness after a long day, fatigue that has been normalized as “mom brain”, and/ or easy or unexplained bruising.
Lipedema is often co-occurring with hypermobility, and I love to help others on similar journeys to manage these conditions.
My journey started with symptoms of anxiety and depression, and eating disorders. After years of medication, therapy, hospitalizations, I uncovered that a lot of what I was trying to treat cognitively was physical.
Yes, I still treat my mental health and it’s not something to ignore, but it’s also not something to treat in isolation.
Moving my body in support of my chronic conditions has brought me back into my body!
I hope I can inspire others to come back to their bodies as well. This practice has TREMENDOUSLY positively impacted my anxiety as I’ve learned how to incorporate different bodily systems through my breath.
Yes, I’m still healing and learning, but aren’t we all!
