Stout Rugby placed 7th in the Nation this
past weekend! While we were hoping to bring some
hardware home, we are grateful for the experience and are proud of both how played and our sportsmanship off the field!

Stout over Coastal Carolina in the round of 16. As the #8 seed they’ll play #1 Babson in the Quarterfinals.

It’s our pleasure to announce several Stout Rugby players who have been selected for the Midwest Barbarians Collegiate All-Star Team. These gentlemen will be traveling to Houston, Texas in early January to take part in the NCR Men’s National Shield Challenge.

Seven Stout Ruggers Headed to NCR Rep Side 10’s Tournament Memorial Day Weekend

UW-Stout Rugby members Evan Cwiekowski, Montana Fane, Hunter Ennenga, Carter Wood, James Wilkinson, Mike Poepping, and Jake Hagen will make the trip to New Orleans, Louisiana as part of the Northern Lights (MN) Conference Representative Team.

A large and supportive group of Stout Rugby Alumni have stepped up to cover a portion of the player travel costs to attend the tournament, which will be held in conjunction with National Collegiate Rugby’s 2021 CRC Sevens Championship Memorial Day Weekend.

Other sides entering the 10-team competition hail from the Cardinals, Deep South, Liberty, NorCal, Northwest, and Southern Rugby Conferences. More information about the event, along with ticket sales and other recent news can be found at ncrugby.org.

“Participating in this competition is a once in a lifetime opportunity that gives us the ability to play with new teammates and against bigger and better competition. For the new guys coming along, this is a great opportunity to learn the rules and culture of the sport, and improve their skills and understanding of the game. The alums are showing tremendous support and this opportunity wouldn’t be possible without them.” -Cwiekowski
