West Texas Rural Youth Football and Cheer League Our mission as a Youth Sports League is to promote good sportsmanship and physical fitness.

The League’s goal is to familiarize the residents of West Central Texas with the West Texas Rural Youth Football League, to promote interest in the League.

🏈 2026 OFFICIAL LEAGUE SCHEDULE! 📣

The wait is over — the West Texas Rural Youth Football and Cheer League 2026 Football Schedule is officially set!

This season, our seven communities will compete in one consolidated league as the Anson Tigers, Clyde Bulldogs, Colorado City Wolves, Early Longhorns, Hawley Bearcats, Jim Ned Indians, and Merkel Badgers take the field each Saturday beginning September 5, 2026.

Each team will face every other community once, with a balanced home-and-away schedule and one scheduled bye week per town. The regular season will conclude with our league-wide bye week on October 24, 2026, as we come together for the West Texas Rural Youth Cheer Competition hosted by Anson Youth Football and Cheer at Anson High School.

Mark your calendars, support your hometown teams, and get ready for another exciting season of youth football, cheer, sportsmanship, and West Texas pride!

Whether you are coaching from the sidelines, carrying equipment, helping with practices, cheering from the stands, tying bows, taping ankles, driving across West Texas on game days, or simply being your athlete’s biggest supporter — your impact matters.

From football dads to cheer dads, thank you for the time, encouragement, sacrifice, and pride you pour into our young athletes each season. You help build confidence, character, teamwork, and memories that will last far beyond the field or competition floor.

📢 **Major League Changes for 2026**

The **WTRYFCL will now be consolidated**, officially dissolving the previous **Division I and Division II designations**. This change is designed to continue strengthening league unity, consistency, and competition across all participating communities.

Additionally, **helmet visors will be allowed** for the 2026 season as long as they have **NO tint**. All visors **must be completely clear**.

The West Texas Rural Youth Football and Cheer League is proud to recognize the 2026 Cheer Board for the upcoming season. These volunteers will help lead, organize, and support our cheer programs across our West Texas communities.

📣 Introducing the 2026 West Texas Rural Youth Football and Cheer League Board of Directors and Staff!

We are proud to introduce the dedicated volunteers who will help lead our league into the 2026 season. These individuals give their time, energy, and talents to help ensure our athletes, families, and communities have a strong, positive, and successful league experience.

This year, we are also excited to announce the addition of two new non-voting staff positions that will play an important role in the continued growth and success of our league:

🔹 Executive Director – This position will handle much of the day-to-day business of the league, while assisting and answering to the Board of Directors on policy matters and league budgets. This role helps keep league operations organized, efficient, and moving forward in support of our member communities.

🔹 League Official Assigner – This position will serve as the liaison between our league and our TASO partners, and will be responsible for scheduling and assigning officials to all league-sanctioned games. This added support will help strengthen communication, improve coordination, and ensure our game operations continue to run smoothly.

These new roles are an important step forward as our league continues to grow and serve athletes across West Texas.

Most importantly, we want to remind everyone that our league board and staff are volunteers. They serve not for recognition, but for the betterment of our communities and the young athletes we are honored to support. Their commitment helps create opportunities for youth to learn teamwork, discipline, leadership, and community pride through football and cheer.

The West Texas Rural Youth Football and Cheer League is proud to serve rural West Central Texas communities through football, cheer, teamwork, and small-town pride!

Season registrations are still open in most towns, and we would love to see more families get involved this season. Whether your child is ready to hit the field, cheer from the sidelines, learn new skills, build friendships, or be part of something bigger in their community — now is the time to join!

Today marks the start of the 2025 West Texas Rural Youth Football & Cheer League season! We’re excited to see our athletes, coaches, cheerleaders, and families come together for another year of competition, teamwork, and community spirit.

We wish the best of luck to all of our teams and athletes as they take the field and sidelines this season. Let’s make 2025 a year to remember!
