Please keep us up to date if El Tour de Mesa on 4/17/21 is on or cancelled for as we are coming from SOCAL area!
Just wanted to let you know I was all ready to sign up for your event until I got to the "no refunds, no transfers" policy. I think I'll wait until we get closer to make sure I don't give you $80 for nothing if the event gets canceled this year.

Great El Tour!!

Marc Community Resources, Inc. had a lot going on at the 29th Annual El Tour de Mesa! We loaded the water and fruit and delivered it to all six aid stations on the 70K course and at the finish line. We handed out ribbons, and operated shuttle vans for the riders. Great event and proud to be part of it!!
Oh Yeah, and by the way, ya ran out of 50k medals, before all the 50k people finished. Strike 2, just saying. ☹️
I’m sorry, but I have to give a sub par review for coordination. Cyclomesa, who was operating the bike valet, said they were closing at 1pm. That didn’t leave enough time to get back to the 50k start and get back to retrieve my bike. I asked what happens to my bike after 1pm, his answer “I don’t know”. Great, no clue what happens to my $2000 bike. Pretty much makes Cuclomesa useless, at least to me. ☹️

El Tour de Mesa is just under 2 weeks away. This is a great way to achieve a platinum status for the longer El Tour de Tucson. It might be shorter and smaller in scale, but this is a fast fun ride. Hope to see you there!

TUCSON – Cycling in Southern Arizona will get a major boost next spring when the inaugural El Tour de Zona takes place March 25-27 in and around towns of Sierra Vista, Tombstone and Bisbee.

The three-day, fully supported bicycle event will feature cycling throughout the day and then play host to a fun festival event at night.

“It is exciting to bring a multi-day recreational cycling event to Southern Arizona,” said TJ Juskiewicz, Executive Director of El Tour de Tucson. “This is a new style of event for road cycling in our area that puts an emphasis on fun and camaraderie over how fast you can go. There will be plenty of excitement on and off the bike!”

El Tour de Mesa postponed until Spring 2022

After carefully monitoring the ongoing public health concerns brought on by the coronavirus pandemic and an abundance of caution for the safety and wellness of our cyclists, volunteers, staff and the communities through which the route passes, the Holualoa Companies El Tour de Mesa has been postponed to April 2022. An exact date will be set in the near future.

We have been working with local officials in attempts to implement mitigation measures and strategies that would allow a reduced number of riders to participate in one of the Arizona’s largest cycling events. Although various protocols and processes of mitigating health concerns were explored, several local agencies recommended that we postpone such a large event until a safer time to conduct the event. The crowds of cyclists that are a part of El Tour de Mesa were well beyond any state or local thresholds for public gatherings.

This is a heart-breaking decision as we were looking forward to a great event with a new route. We have been holding out hope that the coronavirus pandemic would let up enough to allow us to welcome thousands of cyclists from all over the world. Our top priority has always the safety of everyone involved with the event and feel this is the most prudent decision. We appreciate your patience as we explored all possible options before taking this course of action.

All registered participants will have their registration deferred to the postponed date of April 2022. You do not have to do anything to have the registration deferred.

We look forward to hosting one of Arizona’s iconic cycling events next Spring.

Keep riding and stay safe!

Sincerely,
TJ Juskiewicz
Executive Director
