Wh**ey's Pool Hall Saturday 8 Ball Tournament results

Kelly had a cougar convention out of town and JewZach had a gyno-colonoscopy appointment in the morning so we came out of retirement to run the show. The 10 Ball Break+Run Pot totalled at $13,860 after ticket sales. Four pulls for $3,000 and one for a modest $1,860. Nasty. Tre Baker would dry break the first one, followed by a brutal miscue by Audy Gomez in the second pull. Tre would get redemption on the third pull and snap the one on the break. A couple of nice cuts in the side pockets and Tre would tap out with three balls for $900. Neat. NoPay would get the last two pots. He would make two balls on the break in the first attempt, but one of those balls was Ole Wh**ey. Whammy. No redemption on his second attempt, dry break. The pot takes a hit for $900 and is still a solid $12,960 before ticket sales tonight for the Sunday 9 ball!

Along with the 10 Ball success, ole Tre would come out swinging and take down HotRod, Devon, and then Myself to reach the hill match. On the other end Joey A would takedown NoPay, Thomas Hoover, and then Diego to reach the hill match. Tre would advance to the finals with the hotseat. On the loser's side, Diego would takedown Omar and then Toro before meeting back up with Joey in the final three. This time Diego would get his redemption, sending Joey packing with third place cash. Tre would stay in stride, taking down the first set to remain undefeated for the evening. Couldn't even give Diego a single scoop. Just a bowl of nuts. What a night for Tre!

1.) Tre Baker
2.) Diego Moran
3.) Joey Aguzin

Thanks to everyone who came out last night. Always a tough field here on Saturdays. It takes nuts to come shoot with the big boys on Derbingy Steeet. With $13,000 plus in the 10 Ball pot, I don't see how anybody should be scared of this tournament!

Wh**ey's Pool Hall 4th Of July 8 Ball Doubles results

For America's 250th Birthday we had twenty-seven teams make their way over to Derbigny St for a piece of $6,700 in total money up for grabs. The calcutta raked in a solid $4,000. If you were fortunate enough to nab yourself in the calcutta and snap it off your partner and yourself would walk out with a nifty $3,200. Not too shabby for a Saturday playing pool and eating BBQ. Just as our first thirteen cap doubles would prove last time, the calcutta was pure gambling. Not only did the blind did not win. Not only did the blind bid not cash, but the top four bids did not cash. In fact if you want to be precise, seven of the top eleven bids did not cash. The favorites and teams there were so called "stealing," did not deliver. It was anyone's tournament in this format! Forty-five percent of the field were teams playing as the max, with only two of the twelve max teams finishing in the money. So for those who bi***ed about some of those "stealing teams," and that "the thirteens would all rob it," there's your figures to show how our handicaps work 😎

The bracket was up and the action was underway! Out of the box team Brett Smith/Ryan Smith would come out swinging, taking down Francisco/Diego, Kayden Townsend/Torrye Skaggs, Mike Frank/Patrick and then No Pay/Pierre Lassalle to reach the hill match. On the other end, Ramone/Oscar would take down Shelia/Justin Ratlif, Juan/Toro, Miguel/Zummo, and then Ruben Villigran/Stephen to reach the hill match. Staying in stride, Ramone/Oscar would advance to the finals with the hot seat! A team that wasn't even in the top ten highest bids ran through the winners bracket. They made suckers out of those who didn't wanna take a shot on em for sure! On the loser's side, after losing the first round, Diego/Francisco took the longest journey through the loser's bracket taking down Bree/Val, Joe Cooper/Lance Anderson, Juan/Toro, Jim/Barry, Roy Robinson/Jason Duplechin, before sending Ruben/Stephen home in the final six to advance to the final four. Ruben/Stephen would take home a well deserved tournament cash finish, just one out of the calcutta. On the other end, Tre Baker/Rick would take a just one game shorter route sending home Shelia/Justin, Dio/Jeff Williams, Kyle Foret/Kerry Dempster, Nig Latapie/Curt Calegan, and then No pay/Pierre to reach the final four. Nopay/Pierre also take home some well deserved tournament cash. Hungry for a rematch with Ryan/Brett, Diego/Francisco would send home Tre/Rick to get their wish in the final three. Tre/Rick would get to leave with both Tournament and Calculatta cash for their impressive 4th place run. After being sent to the loser's side in round one, Diego/Francisco would achieve their vengeance on the team who did it, sending Ryan/Brett packing with a hell of a 3rd place run. Looking for some last night ice cream, Diego/Francisco would take down the first set to force the second. One scoop. Ramone/Oscar would shut the shop down, taking down the first set to prevent the second scoop of the ole double dip. No sprinkles tonight they said.

1.) Oscar/Ramone
2.) Diego Moran/Francisco Diaz
3.) Ryan Smith/Brett Smith
4.) Tre Baker/Rick
5.) Devin "NoPayKid" Arnoult/Pierre Lassalle - Ruben Villigran/Stephen

Thanks to everyone who came out to shoot and grind it out! Thanks for the patience with the power outage. Stay tuned for more action coming your way as always!

Wh**ey's Pool Hall Saturday 8 Ball Tournament results

Zach had an OBGYN appointment in the morning so we filled in for the night. The 10 Ball Break+Run totalled at $11,850 after ticket sales. Myself, Tre Baker, Bullfrog, Tre Baker, Bullfrog, and also Bullfrog would all come up dry. The pot survives a hit from what could have been a big chunk from that group of players! We used BT Kelle's tablet so I don't remember the bracket but here are your final results.

1.) Robbie Casse
2.) Tre Baker
3.) Toro

Look at that, anyone can win this tournament if my mullet ass can take it down! We'll have fifty people there next week with hopes and dreams now. We should anyway with the size of the Break+Run pot. If you ain't there, you hate money!

Wh**ey's Ball Count 9 Ball Doubles Tournament results

This is becoming quite the poplar format, as the field filled up quite fast in just a couple of weeks. In our 4th edition of the Ball Count 9 ball thirty-two teams made their way over for a piece of $15,450 in total cash up for grabs. The 10 Ball Break+Run pot was active and totaled at a nice $11,150 after ticket sales. With five pots at $2,000 and a sixth for $1,150 the results are as followed. NoPay Devin broke dry, Sammy Chappetta snapped two balls being half eligible for $200, Rachel Stewart broke dry, Sammy broke dry, Ricky Frught broke dry, and Devin broke dry. We sold over $1,000 in tickets so the hit still left us in a surplus after the dust settled.

On to the main event. This would be our first time upping the limit to fifteen from fourteen. The handicaps would prove to be the equalizer as of the seven teams playing as the max, only one would cash. The calcutta wasn't as super high as it usually is, but was still solid. Owning yourself and snapping off the event would net your team a solid $2,000. Not too shabby for a Saturday at the pool hall. Out of the box Travis Shipley/Tony Bartletto would takedown Savannah Weaver/Adam Graves , Kalon Kast/Zach Lawson, Josh Lee/Jimmy Horn, and then Rob Holliday/Brady Cure to reach the hill match. On the other end, Ashleigh/Kerry Dempster would takedown Gretchen/Jeremy Marshmallow, Angela Atchlet/Josh Charbonnet, Ben Parker/Zach Cohen, and then Chris Kott/Mark Shaddinger to reach the hill match. Travis/Tony would advance to the finals with the hot seat. After losing the first round, Michael Crayton/Desiree Godfrey would go on a run shooting down Tugboat/Michael Le, Brice Yaeger/Magan Breaux, Jiggles/Donovan, Josh Lee/Jimmy Horn, and then Myself/Kahn Miller to reach the final six. They would fall just short to Chris/Mark but will would go home with some tournament cash. On the other end Painter/Nip would takedown Sammy Chappetta/Julie Choe, Ben/Zach, before meeting up with Rob/Brady in the final 6. Painter/Nip would takedown Rob/Brady and then Chris/Mark to reach the final three. Rob/Brady would takehome some tournament cash and Chris/Mark would go home with both tournament and calculatta cash. Determined for the rematch with the hotseat winners, Ashleigh/Kerry would send Painter/Nip home to advance to the finals. Knowing Kerry had to be up early to go fishing, Travis/Tony would so kindly waste no time to win the first set for the big cheddar!

1.) Travis Shipley/Tony Bartletto
2.) Assleigh/Kerry Dempster
3.) Donald "Painter" Ludwig/Paul "Nip" Smith
4.) Chris Kott/Mark Shaddinger
5.) Michael Crayton/Desiree Godfrey - Robert Holliday/Brady Cure

Whew, what a long day and night it was. But that's the grind for ya! Thanks to everyone who came out and shot it out this weekend. We'll be back around eventually with another weekend banger for ya, stay tuned! Until then, as always.....

Wh**ey's Pool Hall Saturday Weekly 8 Ball Tournament results

Zach was sore from his pap smear so we came out of retirement to keep the show going. Twenty-two players made their way over to Derbigny St. for a piece of $13,970 in total cash up for grabs. The 10 Ball Break+Run pot would take in a hefty $1,220 in ticket sales to total the pot at $12,570. There would be six pots for $2,000 and one for $570. Mayo would run three balls for $600! My mullet ass would break dry twice in a row. Marshmallow would launch the cue ball off the table. Francisco would takedown two balls for $400! Marshmallow would redeem himself, running four balls for $800! Diego would break dry in the final pot. $1,800 paid out and the pot is still double digits! Biggest break and run pot in the south right now!

The field was stout and would rake in just shy of a grand in the calcutta. Winning this one would net you a solid payday for a night out of fun. Out of the box Joey A would takedown Myself, Sammy, Francisco, and then Jimmy M to reach the hill match. On the other end Diego would draw a bye and then takedown Hector R, Hector H, and then Marshmallow to reach the hill match. Staying in stride, Joey A would advance to the finals with the hot seat. On the loser's side Marshmallow would take down Hector R and then Jimmy M to reach the final three. Not ready to hit the buffet just yet he would take down Diego to reach the finals. Looking out for Marshmallow's health, Joey would send him home with no ice cream. Joey snaps off the big cheddar!

1.) Joey A
2.) Jeremy Bullfrog Marshmallow
3.) Diego

Thanks to everyone who came out Saturday night. It was fun jumping back at the helm, but it's back to retirement for now. But, as always.....
