We encourage everyone to go see this film related to the Detroit riots and Algiers Motel Massacre of 1967. As it's 50th anniversary just preceeded us, society says times have changed but evidence tells Black America differently. It is important to learn about these travesties that have been conveniently silenced. We must fix the problems of today by focusing on the problems rooted from long ago. Detroit hurts to watch in moments but you know what hurts more? Being beaten/tortured/killed/ignored by a corrupt officer/system. This film is powerful and necessary. Go to the theater, bring a friend, family member, or coworker and tell others. | |
