šāThe Truth Many Pickleball Players Donāt Want to Admit
I love pickleball.
Iāve coached countless players, played in many tournaments, spent hours on the court, and dedicated a huge part of my life to helping people enjoy this amazing game.
But lately⦠Iāve started to feel something I never expected.
Embarrassment.
Not because of the sport itself.
Pickleball is still one of the most fun, social, and addictive games out there.
The embarrassment comes from something else creeping into the community:
The attitude.
The arrogance.
The judgment.
The obsession with looking āelite.ā
And honestly⦠itās starting to damage the spirit that made pickleball special in the first place.
š¾ Pickleball Was Built on One Simple Idea
Anyone could play.
It didnāt matter if you were 16 or 60.
You didnāt need to be a professional athlete.
You didnāt need expensive gear.
You just needed a paddle, a ball, and the courage to step on the court.
That was the magic.
New players were welcomed.
People laughed, learned, and improved together.
But now⦠sometimes it feels different.
Walk onto certain courts and suddenly it feels like you need permission to belong.
If you donāt ālookā like a high-level player, people ignore you.
If you donāt know all the terms yet, people laugh.
If youāre not using the newest expensive paddle, some players act like you donāt matter.
Iāve even seen people judged because of their shoes. Think about that for a second.
š The Obsession With Ratings
Ratings were supposed to help organize games.
Instead, in some places, theyāve become a way to separate people.
Players refusing partners because their rating is slightly lower.
Rec games turning into arguments over line calls.
People whispering things like:
āWhy am I stuck with a 3.0?ā
Orā¦
āThey say theyāre a 4.0 but play like a 3.2.ā
But hereās the truth many forget:
Some of the kindest, most positive people in pickleball are beginners.
And some of the most negative attitudes come from experienced players.
Skill level doesnāt define character.
š” The Heart of the Game Is Being Lost
The best pickleball communities Iāve ever seen all share one thing:
They remember why they started playing.
They cheer for each other.
They rotate partners.
They welcome new faces.
Winning matters⦠but enjoying the game matters more.
Thatās what keeps people coming back.
Thatās what makes pickleball different from other sports.
ā¤ļø A Small Challenge For Every Player
Next time you step onto a court, ask yourself three simple questions:
Did I welcome someone new today?
Did I make someone feel included?
Did I leave my ego outside the gate?
Because the truth isā¦
The future of pickleball isnāt decided by ratings or expensive paddles.
Itās decided by how we treat each other on the court.
Pickleball doesnāt need more exclusivity.
It needs more community.
More laughter.
More kindness.
Protect that spirit⦠and this sport will keep growing for generations.
Lose it⦠and we lose what made pickleball special in the first place.
š¬ What do you think?
Is pickleball becoming too elitistā¦
or is this just part of a growing sport?

š 7 Kitchen Rules - Most Pickleball Players Break
03/14/2026
ā„ļøLife's like Pickleball
ā„ļøServe with Patience,
ā„ļøDink with purpose,
ā„ļøPlay with heart,
ā„ļøand remember -- every rally
ā„ļøis another chance to win

š„ POV: You finally win a Dinking battle after 20 Shots
03/14/2026
š„ā„ļø To be a d**ker in pickleball is to embrace a role that many players underestimate ā and even fewer truly master.
It takes a rare kind of patience⦠the kind that most players simply donāt have.
While others want to smash the ball and end the rally in one explosive moment, the d**ker steps calmly into the kitchen line and chooses something harder: control over chaos.
Every rally becomes a quiet battle of precision.
Soft touch.
Steady hands.
Perfect placement.
The ball barely clears the net, dropping gently into the non-volley zone again and again. Opponents grow impatient. They swing harder. They try riskier shots.
But the d**ker waits.
Not because they can't hit hard ā but because they understand the game at a deeper level.
A true d**ker knows that pickleball is not just about power.
Itās about discipline.
Itās about forcing mistakes instead of making them.
Itās about winning the long rally that others donāt have the patience to survive.
And while others chase highlight shots, the d**ker quietly controls the entire tempo of the match.
Every soft shot is a question.
Every return is a test of patience.
Every rally becomes a mental puzzle that slowly wears opponents down.
Because the truth isā¦
The best d**kers are not just players.
They are strategists.
They understand angles, timing, and positioning.
They recognize when an opponent is frustrated.
They know exactly when the moment arrives to attack.
And when that opportunity finally appears ā after 10⦠15⦠maybe 20 soft exchanges ā
The d**ker strikes.
Not with wild power.
But with perfect timing.
So yes⦠it takes a special kind of player to be a d**ker.
Patient enough to slow the game down.
Disciplined enough to avoid reckless shots.
Smart enough to outthink opponents.
And confident enough to win without smashing every ball.
Do you still want to be a d**ker?
Then step into the kitchen line.
Because there are never enough players who truly understand the power of patience.
It takes a calm mind.
A soft touch.
A strategic thinker.
It takes a d**ker.
āBangers hit hard.
Dinkers win matches."

š„ 08 Things Mentally Weak Pickleball Players Always Do....
03/13/2026
š„° Confidence on the court doesnāt start with the paddle. It starts with a dad who keeps showing up.
Not loudly.
Not for attention.
Just consistently.
Heās awake before the alarm.
Coffee brewing.
Paddle bags by the door.
Quietly checking tournament schedules, court locations, and traffic routes ā making sure theyāll arrive early enough to warm up.
He doesnāt just drive to the courts.
He carries the silent hope of seeing her grow stronger, more confident, more fearless with every match.
He watches every rally carefully.
The missed return.
The late step to the kitchen line.
The d**k that floated just a little too high.
He notices it all.
But what he says is:
āGreat effort.ā
āNice rally.ā
āYouāre improving every game.ā
Because he knows encouragement
builds players faster than criticism ever will.
He learns the language of the sport ā
third shot drops, resets, kitchen battles ā
not to coach from the sidelines,
but to understand her world a little better.
He waits through long tournament days.
Through delayed matches and hot afternoons.
Clapping just as loud for a smart d**k
as he does for a winning smash.
He doesnāt need recognition.
He just needs a chair on the sideline
and a clear view of the court.
From there he feels everything.
The missed shot that hurts more than she shows.
The winning point that makes his chest swell with pride.
But his face stays calm.
Because the first place she looks
after every point
is toward him.
Sometimes the drive home is quiet.
Not because of disappointment ā
but because heās thinking.
About growth.
About confidence.
About how quickly these seasons pass.
One day there wonāt be early morning tournaments.
No paddle bags in the trunk.
No folding chairs beside the court.
And he knows heād give anything
to watch just one more game.
Pickleball dads donāt just raise players.
They build resilience.
They teach composure.
They show what commitment looks like ā
without ever asking for credit.
To the dads who show up
match after match, season after season:
The games may end someday.
But the confidence you helped build
will last a lifetime. š
Whatās something only a pickleball dad would understand?
