🧡 I may not be riding the miles, but I can still help move us closer to a world free of MS.

On October 10–11, riders will take on Bike MS: Breakaway to the Keys — riding for everyone whose life has been touched by multiple sclerosis.

This year, I’m not riding. I’m raising funds for our Miami Community Council Riders for MS team. And for me, this is personal.

After more than 26 years of living with MS, I know firsthand why continuing to fund research, treatments, resources, and support for people living with this disease matters so much.

We have come a long way, but there is still so much more work to do.

Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us keep moving forward. 🧡

Will you help me support our team?

Donate here:

And if you can’t donate right now, please share this post with someone you know. Sharing it helps us reach more people and keeps the mission moving forward.

Together, we can keep pushing toward the day when no one has to hear the words, “You have MS.” 🧡

I’m participating in Bike MS: Breakaway to the Keys 2026 to raise funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Nearly one million people in the US are living with the challenges and uncertainty of MS. With more than $1 billion invested in MS research, the Society has categorically transforme...

✨ Tomorrow night is your invitation to slow down.

One of my favorite parts of teaching is watching a room full of people choose to slow down, breathe, and take time for themselves.

Tomorrow night at 6:30 PM at the Pinecrest Branch Library, we’ll move with intention, release some of the day’s stress, and create space for a little more calm.

Whether you want to improve flexibility, reduce stress, manage a chronic illness, or simply find a peaceful moment in your week, you belong here.

I’d love to see you on the mat tomorrow.

Mara 🧡

Chapter 21: Becoming the Teacher

Yoga had already begun helping me find my way back to myself. It gave me strength, helped me breathe through discomfort, and taught me how to meet my body where it was.

But somewhere along the way, yoga became more than something I practiced. I began to feel called to share it.

In 2018, I made the decision to begin yoga teacher training. I was not trying to become the strongest or most flexible person in the room. I wanted to understand yoga more deeply and learn how to make it available to people whose bodies did not always move the way they wanted them to.

Living with MS meant I could not always do everything the traditional way. I had to listen to my body, modify poses, rest when I needed to, and remind myself that doing something differently did not mean I was doing it wrong.

That lesson would become the heart of the teacher I was becoming.

I completed my first yoga teacher training in 2018. Then, in 2019, I taught my first class at a local park.

Standing in front of that class, I was nervous. But I also knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be.

The same practice that had helped me heal was now giving me a way to help others.

I wanted people living with MS, chronic illness, pain, or physical limitations to know that yoga could still belong to them.

That first class planted the seed for what would eventually become MS YogaMovements and a purpose I never could have imagined.

Has something that helped heal you ever become something you felt called to share?
