I was reminded that I haven’t posted race day updates for the last two weeks lol. Long story short in four races we had three 3rd place finishes and one DNF and learned a couple things (hopefully)

5/31 @ Blackbird

Sr Honda
Heat 2 to 2
Feature 4 to 🥉 -After starting on the outside and going straight to the back, settled in and drove back from 6th to 3rd

Sr Animal
Heat 3 to 4
Feature 8 to DNF 🚫- started 8th, made wholesale changes during the break and car was way better. Worked his was up to third but made a mistake when 4th place got a run under him Charlie came down and made contact which sent him to the outside wall. After a few green laps he was up to 5th but he felt the bent shock and came in under yellow to have me look at it and didn’t realize they had just given the one-to-go so pulling into the pits DQ’d himself 😣

Car looked great and so did he! Good line and clean driving.

Feature 4 to 🥉
Good result but same mistake as last week. With 4 to go running in 3rd, 4th place got under him and Charlie didn’t leave enough room and they touched and jumped wheels and his competitor spun. Charlie rightfully got the strike and was sent to the rear in 8th place. Took the green with 4 to go and drove the wheels off it to finish 3rd against some really strong cars!

Need to clean up some stuff. We watched the replays together and I’m not easy on him, so he knows what he needs to work on.

Our first national this week!

New suit who dis?! Charlie got his first custom suit and I think it’s safe to say he loves it because he fell asleep in it and tried really hard to talk me into letting him wear it to school today 😂. He’s worn passed down suits for the last 2 years which we were extremely thankful for Jeff Stelter giving us those! It’s finally race weekend!! After our ornery little driver got himself in some trouble at school last week and had to sit out opening day for a “suspension”, our first race weekend is finally here! Lessons were definitely learned and we will be stronger for it! 💪🏼🏁

First laps of 2026 and first time running the Sr Animal and had a blast in practice. The coolest part was turning laps with my friend Carter Fank Family Racing for the first time ever, so cool! Cant wait for opening day next week!
