Schedule for July 17:
All games in district 1 for Friday have been postponed due to very unhealthy AQI readings. Our goal in Shepherd was to try to get some games in because the numbers were the lowest in the district. However, those numbers were well above safe guidelines. I apologize for the late notice to those heading to Shepherd.
Schedules are being worked out please be patient as we try to come up with the fairest schedules for all involved to try to get these tournaments done in a timely manner.

Schedule Update:
6:30 pm.
District has been monitoring the air quality situation and Shepherd. Games for the second doubleheader for softball and baseball are on as scheduled.
July 15Th The Canadian wildfire smoke has entered the northern and middle part of the district. We are aware that some of our teams have players with breathing issues already and we are going to postpone the major baseball games and minor baseball games in Midland and Sanford for this evening.
The 4pm junior baseball game in Shepherd has started and at this point the smoke has not entered that area. The 6 PM game is tentatively still going on as well as 9-11 softball. We will update as soon as possible.

Schedule Update for Tuesday, July 14:
Games in Sanford (Minor BB) and Shepherd (Junior BB) were scheduled for double headers using the same umpires for both games. Due to the heat predicted around the scheduled times of 4 pm, 5:30 pm and the second games that evening, those locations have postponed play and will pick up on Wednesday, July 15.
These decisions were based on input and desires of umpires and local officials of the leagues with consultation with District 1 staff.
The Majors BB tournament at Northeast Ll are single games involving one set of umpires. Those games will be played as scheduled as they are later in the evening and only one game for each set of umpires.
The Sectional tournament for Minor SB involving Bullock Creek and Georgetown is tied 1 game a piece and a winner take all game is scheduled for a 7 pm start at Bullock Creek on Tuesday, July 14. Again, this game e is being played because of the single game and a 7 pm start time.
