What is IHSA?
IHSA is an organization that provides collegiate riders of all skill level a chance to compete individually as well as with a team in equestrian competition.

Where will we ride?
Our coach is Carly Hunter of Idlewild Equestrian at Lake Oconee. The barn is located in Buckhead about 40 minutes from the campus.
Each member wishing to compete will be required to take weekly lessons. If the member is currently riding at another barn, they are welcome to continue weekly lessons there, but then must take TWO monthly lessons with Carly at Idlewild Equestrian at Lake Oconee.

How much will it cost?
To join we require a $50 fee each semester that will go toward fundraising, gas to commute to shows etc. If you are a member who does not wish to compete, that is all you will have to pay.
Each member who chooses to compete will be expected to pay for their lessons, class fees ($25 per class) and proper show attire.
Each member will have to individually join with IHSA.
Do we have to compete to join the team?
No, we are a club for anyone who loves horses whether or not they have riding experience. If you are not competing, you can still come to the shows and help our riders and horses prepare. We will also plan fun group trail rides as well as other activities which will give each member a fun experience in the club.
Do we have to own our own horse and tack?
No, Idlewild Equestrian at Lake Oconee will provide horses for lessoning and we will show on the horses provided. Tack will also be provided, but if you have your own you may use it.
