US Fighting Systems

US Fighting Systems was founded to help martial arts school owners and every law-abiding United States resident, regardless of age, gender or physical capability with the tools needed to survive a physical encounter both in the street and in the courtroom

Real-world personal safety and self defense training is different than traditional defense training: • It isn’t a sport — with mats, time limits, weight classes, and referees. In the real world, you can’t throw in the towel if things aren’t going well — losing just isn’t an option. • It isn’t based on tactics and techniques only 20-somethings can perform and that require years of practice in order to become proficient. That’s just not the real-world. • It doesn’t assume any rules of engagement. In the real world there are no rules (except later in court where many encounters end up) Sadly, most personal-safety and self-defense training doesn’t consider these realities — even when labeled as “reality” based. Self-defense training is rarely focused on defending your life, the techniques taught require physical capabilities beyond what’s possessed by most people, and the ever-present legal issues are seldom considered. In contrast, the personal-safety and self-defense systems I’ve taught over the last 30 years to police, corrections, and military professionals have these nine attributes: •Have staying alive as the #1 priority •Work despite the physical limitations of the professional applying them •Compensate for the physical capabilities of the assailant •Consider all situations and environments where an attack may occur •Are quick to learn and easy to remember (just 3 steps for each technique) •Are courtroom defensible •Are medically and tactically sound •Are executed the same way whether standing or on the ground •Have been proven to work in real life or death situations! My name is Dave Young and I founded US Fighting Systems in 2010 to bring these same nine attributes to personal-safety and self-defense training for the general public. I have experience as a Marine, police officer (civilian, military), corrections officer, and security agent — and have been training professionals how to stay safe and defend themselves since 1980. My professional students vary widely in size and abilities and they operate in a world where there are no rules — so providing training with the above nine attributes is critically important. My students are exposed to dangerous situations every single day, they have limited time for training and retraining, and almost every physical encounter will end up being reviewed, both civilly and criminally. That’s why US Fighting Systems is such a breakthrough in personal safety and self-defense training. For over 30 years, my systems have been proven to save lives on the streets and be defensible in court — in almost every situation imaginable.

Mission: The mission of US Fighting Systems is to help every law-abiding United States resident, regardless of age, gender or physical capability; • Feel and be safe — in their home, at work and on the streets • Be able to defend themselves if attacked — both during the physical fight and in any courtroom battle that may follow. We believe that much of what is taught and sold in the name of personal safety and self-defense is of little use in the real world — because it’s based on good-sounding theories or what works in a sporting competition … … rather than real-world experience on the streets US residents deserve to know what works in the real world — both in terms of tactics and products — and our mission is to provide that information. Feel Safe, Be Safe

Operating as usual

As a travel across the country and conduct training and certifications for individuals and organizations, I realize that some who have never really experienced true danger will often rely on theory or an unproven concepts to keep them safe. make sure you practice for your being taught by using a classroom model with the understanding that if you don’t start with a classroom model it becomes a playground model, and playground models rarely survive real world encounters.

[08/27/20]   Facts to understand!

Discussion topic: If No police...
You defend yourself as an option. A LARGE MAJORITY WILL NOT FAIR WELL IN THIS CATEGORY...
Pay someone to KEEP YOU SAFE...The ones with the money will be able to do it. However the ones without the money will have to defend for themselves. And again not many will farewell in this category.

Solution to consider. Keep the police, provide them with the training to be safe and keep everyone else safer. Learn to treat people with dignity by showing them respect, take responsibility for your own actions, when you see someone fall or in need of help.... pick them up and help them.

Try’ll be surprised on the results!!!

Montco karate teacher admits to sexually abusing students, agrees to 6 1/2 years in prison

There is a typical pattern a school owner should be aware of. These lines they allow their staff to cross are not gray or dotted. They are a solid line for a reason.

1. Every martial arts school owner needs to have a very detailed and comprehensive “Fraternization Policy”
2. A “Zero Tolerance” for violating this policy.
3. Guidelines Including but not limited to:
* Social media guidelines.
* Inappropriate Behavior.
* Dress code.
* Social contracting.
* Supervision.

Most of the cases involving the unprofessional conduct and inappropriate contact between instructor and student is the primary responsibility of the School Owner.

There are steps you can and should have in place. Victims of Evan Burgess, 28, reported waking up in hotel beds with their instructor only to find him performing sexual acts upon them, often while other adults slept nearby.

Sicko rapes 4-year-old inside McDonald’s bathroom in Oklahoma: police

Time and time again adults who manage the safety of children (ages toddler to mature teenager) understand the
Importance difference of GUARDING your children vs. WATCHING when they are in your custody.

Definition of GUARDING - placing yourself in a position to ensure the emotional, mental and physical protection of your children are safe.

1. When walking in the store -Having them walk in front of you not behind
2. When in the movie theater - sit next to them
3. When they have to use the bathroom- go with them

Definition of WATCHING - placing yourself in a position that gives you the physical comfort and illusion without effort your children are safe.

1. When walking in the store - Having them walk behind you not in front
2. When in the movie theater - you sit in the same theater as them
3. When they have to use the bathroom- you point where

Here are VERY SIMPLE GUIDELINES to STOP these horrific attacks from happening.

1. The child needs to use the bathroom.
2. You escort the child to the bathroom.
3. If both are the same sex you visually check to make the make the bathroom is clean and safe to enter and use.
4. If you are the opposite sex you have the adult clear the bathroom they are needing, visually make sure it is clean and safe to enter and use.
5. Then let them in and YOU stand outside the door until they are done.
6. Have them wash their hands and then you leave together.

If you did this the below tragedy would NOT happen.

If you are an organization “Have you policies and procedures in place! An Oklahoma man snuck into a McDonald’s bathroom and raped a 4-year-old girl while daycare workers waited outside, authorities said Thursday.

[03/03/18]   This is Dave Young.

I would like to respond to questions that I have received in the wake of the most recent active shooting in Parkland, FL. Sadly, this definitely will not be the last Active Shooter Attack that we will experience. I have received many emails from parents, students and instructors on the strategies and training they are seeing being given to their own children along with videos sent me to watch and comment on.
I wanted to take the time to write out my view point that you can share with others you have that may have questions on this topic.

I have always taken great pride in how I handle these questions as every question is important and the bottom line is this – “If you do the wrong thing in a dangerous situation you could get seriously injured, maimed or even killed.”
For the ones who know me, will understand why I do not comment on the training of others. For the ones who don’t know me, I will tell you. “It’s because their training is from their own personal and professional experience.” Regardless the level of their experience they are giving you the best of what they have to give. And, in many situations a plan practiced is better than a quickly made up one.

Our experience is much different than many out there and our circle is small. Many of the professionals I work with have survived active shooter attacks, responded to them and have trained others to do the same. It is because of this real world experience that we developed expertise in responding to and surviving Active-Shooter Attacks.
What you will see on social media is not what you will see in real life.

You can choreograph anything to work in the training room. What happens in the real world is often much more brutal and has long term consequences.

The sad thing is there are many teaching as in this field that shouldn’t be. If we were discussing the best way to bake a sheet of cookies, we make a mistake you could always throw the cookies away and bake another batch. In the real world, you rarely get a second chance to win a life and death encounter.

Social media sensationalizes everything and you can choreograph anything to work in a demonstration especially with a cooperative attacker.
I ask the parents to ask these questions, BEFORE you sending your children to these classes or attend them yourself.

1. What are their references and what research done with this program?

2 What are the real world experiences of the Instructor?

3. What training / certifications in this topic does the instructor hold?

4. Have they ever done / experienced what it is they are asking you to do?

5. How many other people have they trained that have use what they have taught in this topic?

“If your training is not preparing your students for what WILL happen, you are selling them tickets to a movie they will not want to attend." Yes, you can quote me on this…

You have my permission to share this with your contacts...
