Welcome 6’6” forward Colby Grindeland to the Williston Roughnecks!

Colby is no stranger to Williston basketball. He played three years of varsity basketball at Williston Trinity Christian, finishing his high school career as a 1,000-point scorer and earning multiple opportunities to continue playing at the college level.

Instead, Colby chose to stay home and work right here in Williston. Now, he gets another opportunity to represent his hometown — this time with the Roughnecks.

At 6’6” with athleticism above the rim, Williston is adding another exciting weapon to the lineup. 🔥

The Williston Roughnecks are adding size, athleticism, and experience to the roster with the addition of 6’5” Shooting Guard Jadon Johnson-Lewis!

Jadon brings two years of NJCAA Division I basketball experience to the Roughnecks. After receiving opportunities to continue his career at the NAIA level, he made the decision to stay in North Dakota and work alongside his dad.

Now, he’s ready to get back on the floor and bring that experience to the DBL.

The Grand Forks Huskies add a proven playmaker to the backcourt with the signing of Juan Carlos Canahuate Martinez. 🐺🏀

JC brings an impressive résumé spanning the collegiate, international, and professional levels.

During two seasons at Mayville State University, JC helped lead the team to a Conference Tournament Championship in his first year while finishing his Mayville State career with nearly 400 points and approximately 250 assists.

Before arriving in North Dakota, JC spent two seasons at Central Arizona College. Across his collegiate career, he surpassed 1,000 career points while establishing himself as an elite distributor, ranking among the top five players in the nation in total assists.

And his experience extends well beyond college basketball.

JC represented the Dominican Republic National Team at a young age and has since competed professionally for multiple teams in the Dominican Republic, giving the Huskies a guard with experience playing the game at several different levels.

Scorer. Facilitator. Veteran experience.

Now he’s bringing it all to Grand Forks.

The Grand Forks Huskies add experience, versatility, and another proven guard with the addition of Winder Joseph. 🐺

Winder’s basketball journey has taken him well beyond North Dakota. He began his college career playing JUCO basketball at West Hills College in California before making his way to Mayville State, bringing his game right here to North Dakota.

His pursuit of the game eventually took him overseas to Spain, where he competed in an invite-only placement showcase and earned an opportunity to sign professionally.

Now healthy and ready for another opportunity, Winder brings that experience to Grand Forks as a combo guard and becomes another important piece of the Huskies’ growing roster.

Different states. Different countries. Same love for the game.
