I'm not really active here like I should be. School has taken over my life. But I was able to fit in a 11 week prep for my most recent show. It was such an accomplishment to get out there on that stage and do as well as I did! I have qualified for a national show sooooo, I'm gonna do one! 9 weeks til my next show, lets see how dialed in I can get!

After school has kicked my butt for the past 11 weeks, I finally have time to get back at it. No competition on the horizon but working out makes me happy, relieves stress and helps get rid of my winter fluff lol. Natural endorphins are where it's at.

If you take a break, don't beat yourself up. Just get back at it and kick butt! It will hurt in the beginning (I'm crazy sore today) but the more you are consistent, the less sore you'll be.

Not in competition prep but still want to look bomb on my vacation. Having a good nutrition and workout balance is key. I'm currently eating 70% clean and working out 3-4 days/wk. Set a goal be it a photoshoot, vacation, weight loss or just to feel and look good! Goals drive us! Have a great week guys.

Ok so tomorrow is the 4th of July...synonymous with cookouts, the beach and trashy food. Are you working towards a fitness or life goal ? Are you worried about being around all the food, being "tempted?" Well guess what?? You can eat!! It's about all about a balance. Try to stick to a 60/40 split (60% clean, 40% other). There's no need to feel deprived and one weekend will NOT mess up all your hard work. Just make sure you get a good sweaty workout done at least once this weekend.

Have a safe, fun 4th of July friends! Let's celebrate our country while we still have one to celebrate lol

Good morning everyone! I spent the week in the mountains of Kentucky at orientation for school, which was awesome! Only thing, NO GYM ACCESS!

Now at first, I was freaking out...completly worried about losing all my hard earned muscle and becoming a weakling (sn: not possible in 4 days lol). So I reached out to a trainer friend and she gave me amazing body weight/ plyometric and resistance band workouts. Needless to say, I'm still sore!
There is no excuse to not work out if you don't have gym access. Your God given body is sometimes enough.

My other concern was about food. Well, I decided to prep all my food, freeze it and bring it with me. Let's just say, I was the only person who enjoyed all their meals lol. You're going to be surrounded by temptation, I totally was, but will power and focusing on your goals will keep you on track!

Let's blaze through this weekend guys! One day closer to our goals!

My favorite thing to hear people say to me is "Don't lift too much. You don't want to look like a man." I always laugh and continue pushing HEAVY weight.

The best way to get fit and lose weight is to add strength training to cardio training. Building lean muscle helps burn fat!

I'm tired of hearing ppl saying "clean eating is boring" but then turn around and ask me how to get fit! Look in your pantry, fridge and cabinets! If you can't pronounce the ingredients in what you're eating, you should not be eating it!

I love to eat and I make sure that what I prep is delicious. This week I have beef/turkey meatballs, shredded beef with peppers and jerk chicken. My spice cabinet stays stocked because I don't like bland food.
I jus had a delicious pan seared salmon steak with wilted spinach...again, delicious. Expand your palate

Ok so I've been MIA for a while...my bad! But I'm baaaaaack!!

Ok so quick update: I'm training for a comp in June with Fitness America and plan on competing again in August.

Right now I'm 9 weeks out from my next show and I've been dealing a whole bunch of bloating for about 2 weeks. My diet has been consistent with small amounts of dairy daily (yes! You can have dairy!) and no gassy veg (broccoli is the #1 culprit). Well I couldn't figure it out so I relied on good ole Gas-x and coach decreased one of my fruits. Not at the end of the week, I'm feeling so lean, it's ridiculous!

Now I know some people are gonna read that and say "wait, fruit?? Isn't fruit good for you?" The answer is yes, but like anything else, in moderation. Fruit contains natural carbs (sugars) that can still hinder you from reaching your goals despite being healthy. The solution is to have fruit with restraint. Don't buy a container of strawberries and eat the whole thing or a bunch of bananas and eat 3 in one sitting (bananas have one of the highest carb contents of all fruit).

Moral of the story, fruits are great but in moderation! Stay healthy my friends. 😁

As many of you know, I've been newly accepted into my post-Master's w/ DNP program starting this coming July! I am super excited but I am unsure if I'll still be able to commit to competing with this newfound obligation. My goal is to continue working out and eating right with the hopes of competing again. Life is short and there's so many opportunities out there, I'm gonna focus on this dream of mine and see where it takes me!!! Wish me luck! :-D
