Validation can be a complicated thing.
We don’t want our entire sense of worth to depend on other people telling us we’re doing a good job. But that doesn’t mean validation is inherently bad.
Sometimes, it can be really simple.
On my morning walks, I’ll smile or wave at someone I pass. When they smile or wave back, there’s this tiny moment of connection. I can see that being acknowledged made them feel good, and honestly, it makes me feel good too.
It’s a small reminder that the way I move through the world can have a positive impact on someone else.
That’s a kind of validation I’m happy to receive.
So where are you experiencing healthy validation right now? What’s something that reminds you, in a simple way, that what you’re doing matters?
