Our CEO joined colleagues in Birmingham and leaders across the state during National Hospital Week for meaningful conversations around health and workforce development, rural healthcare, mental health resources, and stronger communities.
Kudos to UAB’s Emergency Department expansion to increase capacity and strengthen patient access across Alabama.
The conversations also reinforced the important role social determinants of health play alongside healthcare access and outcomes.
When leadership, partnerships, and organizational alignment come together, lasting health solutions reach the community.

During our visit to Huntsville, we had the opportunity to visit NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and meet with engineers, leaders, and mission teams to learn more about NASA’s mission beyond spaceflight.
Fun fact: The work happening here extends beyond launches—supporting advancements in healthcare, manufacturing, and defense, while also helping build the future STEM workforce.
We were also gifted a Marshall lapel pin in recognition of the visit—a meaningful touch to an insightful experience.
Appreciate the leadership and workforce for their continued drive, innovation, and mission focus.

Dr. James joined colleagues, partners, and industry leaders at the Gulf Coast Defense Industrial Base Workforce Summit hosted by Bishop State.
The focus was clear—strengthening the maritime workforce to meet growing industry demand across the Gulf Coast.
→ 12,000+ maritime jobs already in Alabama
→ ~15,000+ additional roles projected across the Gulf Coast
→ ~250,000 needed nationwide
There is strong alignment across education, industry, workforce, and government. The infrastructure is in place.
Insight:
With this level of demand, the priority is ensuring individuals can move from training into employment faster and more consistently. Clear pathways, shorter training cycles, and coordinated systems will determine how effectively regions meet this need.

Our CEO, along with several colleagues, attended a workforce update at Airbus highlighting how, in partnership with AIDT, the company plans to hire 600 additional workers to expand Mobile’s aerospace operations. The initiative strengthens training pathways through centers like Flight Works Alabama and collaboration with institutions such as Bishop State Community College.
Why This Is Foundational for Our Region
1. Expands access to high-skill, high-wage careers
2. Aligns education with real-time industry demand
3. Strengthens Mobile’s long-term economic competitiveness
Progress of this scale underscores the value of alignment — connecting talent pipelines, institutional partners, and industry demand.

Ideas spark change. Habits sustain it.
Alignment in action is what transforms impact.
Actions that work:
- Block 30 minutes each morning to advance one key priority — no email,
no distractions.
- Reserve the same time each week for reflection and recalibration.
Continue LEADING brilliantly.

VsOfficeHours... Good morning, Monday! Leaders before you open emails or head into your first meeting of the day, exhale and recalibrate.
Over virtual coffee this morning, a client shared how quickly the year is wrapping up and how hard it’s been to keep pace. Many leaders feel that same pressure — finishing strong while already planning for what’s next.
In this season, strategy isn’t about adding more; it’s about sharpening focus and realigning what matters most.
🕒 | Quick tip:
Take 15 minutes today to review your team’s top three priorities — then ask:
“If we accomplish only one of these this quarter, which creates the greatest impact?”
That’s where your leadership energy makes the greatest impact.
