It is with a heavy heart that we must announce Relay For Life of Mobile County held its last event in 2020. The American Cancer Society, like so many others, faced unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With these challenges, changes have been made to the structure of our organization to ensure we are maximizing the use of every dollar raised to benefit our lifesaving research and
programs. Unfortunately, with a sleeker organization, we will no longer have the local staff capacity to host Relay For Life of Mobile County moving forward. We want to thank all of you who have Relayed with us over the years. Not only have you made a tremendous difference in the lives of so many battling cancer, but you also created a community of hope for those who need it most. We also want to thank everyone who quickly adapted to the virtual changes we had to make last minute to our 2020 RFL event. It wasn’t the event we had imagined, but because of your support we were able to raise over $40,000 in a completely virtual format- just amazing! If you are still interested in helping the American Cancer Society of South Alabama, we would appreciate your support. We are still working hard to move forward after a year as challenging as 2020, and appreciate all our sponsors, volunteers, and donors more than ever before (who even knew that was possible!)
