2025 | GND Year in Review 🦆

What started on the back porch after the 2024 Worlds Tournament—over a game of spades—turned into something much bigger than we ever imagined.

Chance and I sat there with nothing but a piece of paper, scribbling down names, tossing around team names and jersey designs—but more importantly, talking about what we wanted this team to stand for. What we wanted to build. What we wanted to represent.

The team looked different in various stages throughout the season. Rosters shifted. There were growing pains, adjustments, and lessons learned along the way. But through every phase, the motto never changed.

From day one, this group competed. We earned respect, battled in tough tournaments, and proved that GND wasn’t just another new team thrown together—it was a program built on accountability, trust, and culture.

2025 On-the-Field Accomplishments:
🏆 1st Place — WSL Sponsorship Tournament (Sylacauga, AL)
🏆 1st Place — WSL Boggy Classic (Niceville, FL)
🏆 1st Place — MS/LA • FL/AL Gulf Coast Challenge (Gulfport, MS)
🏆 1st Place — Battle for Pensacola (Pensacola, FL)
🏆 1st Place — 3rd Annual GSL Shootout (Bay Minette, AL)
🥈 2nd Place — Ring in the New Year (Daphne, AL)
🥈 2nd Place — WSL Spring State (Pensacola, FL)
🥈 2nd Place — King of the Hill Ironman Tournament (Bay Minette, AL)
🥈 2nd Place — Flora Bama State Championship (Pensacola, FL)
🏅 5th Place — Tripp Roth (Baton Rouge, LA)

Beyond the hardware, our guys made a name for themselves well outside our backyard. Several traveled to high-level tournaments like the Pic-O-Dixie in Chattanooga, TN, where they put up 50 runs against one of the top teams in that area and earned respect on a bigger stage.

A few of our guys were selected to compete in the Challenge Cup in Viera, FL at the beginning of the year, representing the State of Alabama. Even more telling, several were selected again for this upcoming year’s Challenge Cup—proof that the talent, work ethic, and culture within this group does not go unnoticed. One of our own, Ralph Compton, was also selected to play in the Vets vs. Celebrities Tournament in Pensacola, an honor that speaks to both the player and the man.
Off the field, this year was just as big.

We celebrated real-life wins together. Jeremy Pope and C**t Steiner welcomed new babies. Chance Goley graduated college, joined the military, and got married—all in the same year. Logan Duplechain earned a promotion with the Fairhope Police Department. Dylon Kirksey finally hit big on his PrizePicks (it really happened). Zach Hardman somehow managed to travel in for what felt like 56 cruises this year, yet still showed up whenever his name was in the lineup.

We also don’t get through a season like this without the people behind the scenes. A huge thank you to the wives, girlfriends, families, and supporters who traveled, sacrificed weekends, chased fields, watched kids, and held everything together so this team could compete. Your support never went unnoticed. And of course, Cricket, our team mascot, who brought the Duck energy everywhere we went and kept spirits high no matter the situation.

It wasn’t all highs. We had tough moments too—personal losses, frustrations, fights, bickering, and some really rough lows. But every time, we picked each other up, had the hard conversations, and came back stronger. That’s what made this group different.

In between the grind, we found balance. We laughed, reset, and spent several pool days at JHud’s house, where the volleyball games somehow became more competitive than our softball games.

And because it wouldn’t be GND without it:
CJ still hasn’t grown any.
Domnick is still our Emo Cowboy.
And Shane still has 50–11 kids.

For a first-year team, the results speak for themselves. But what I’m most proud of can’t be measured in wins or trophies. It’s the buy-in. The resilience. The way this group showed up for one another. The culture that was built from day one.
The foundation is laid.
The standard is set.
And this is only the beginning.

🎄 Merry Christmas from GND 🎄

As 2025 comes to an end, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on this year and this group. The wins were special, the losses were tough, but every moment mattered. This team showed heart, resilience, and a level of commitment that goes far beyond softball.

I’ve watched these guys grow—not just as players, but as men. Showing up for each other, holding one another accountable, celebrating the highs, and standing together through the lows. That’s what makes this team different. That’s what makes this family.

Looking ahead to 2026, I’m more excited than ever. We’re building something real, something lasting. We’ll continue to grow, push ourselves, and chase higher standards. As we prepare for the upcoming season, we’ll also be looking to add a few final pieces to the roster—players who fit our culture, our mindset, and what GND stands for.
Thank you to every player, family member, supporter, and sponsor who believed in us this year. Your support never goes unnoticed. Enjoy this time with your loved ones, recharge, and get ready—because the work isn’t finished.

🦃💚 GND THANKSGIVING CHECK-IN 💛🦃

Happy Thanksgiving from the Ducks — where the plates are heavy, the naps are mandatory, and apparently Mike hit his parlay before he even hit the dinner table.

Priorities. Respect. 🤑🔥

While most people are thankful for family, friends, and good food…

our guys are over here thankful for:
Stretchy pants
Homemade mac & cheese
Spending time with loved ones
and Mike’s sudden belief that he’s “up big for the year now.”

We hope everyone is enjoying their holiday, eating good food, laughing loud— whether you’re with family, watching football, or just enjoying the day off.

Stay safe, eat good, and enjoy the day.
I am beyond grateful for this team, this family, our lady ducks, and every person who supports us on and off the field.

💚💛 Ducks Fly Together… even when the parlay finally hits. 💛💚

2026 USSSA Sponsorship Tournament • Pensacola, FL

We kicked off the day with a battle, falling just short to Competitive Edge 15–14, but the Ducks bounced right back and took Game 2 over WBD 16–15. 💪

Next up: our friendly rivalry matchup vs NESCO at 1:25 PM — with BOTH teams making their official D-class debut this weekend. Should be a fun one! 🆙🆚

And in true GND fashion, we made sure to show up for the community, donating our canned goods to the Manna Food Bank before first pitch. ❤️🥫

🇺🇸 Happy Veterans Day from GND Softball 🇺🇸

Today, we honor all who have served — the brave men and women who’ve protected our freedom with courage and sacrifice.

We’re especially proud to recognize some of our own: Ralph Compton, Shane Sirmans, Cero Hasewood, and Logan Duplechain.

Your service, leadership, and integrity inspire us both on and off the field. Thank you for your dedication to this country and for continuing to represent strength, teamwork, and heart every day.

From the entire GND family — we salute you. 💙🦆❤️

🦆 OFFSEASON UPDATE FROM YOUR DUCKS 🦆

Even in the offseason, our guys stay busy representing the GND name wherever the game takes them! 💪

🔥 Logan Duplechain and Shane Sirmans recently competed in the Annual First Responders Tournament in Bay Minette.

Logan’s team — Fairhope PD — took 1st place, while Shane’s team — LA Misfits — battled their way to 2nd place! Proud of both of these guys for showing out and keeping that competitive fire alive 👏

💥 Meanwhile, Dylon Kirksey and Mike Rogers suited up for the USSSA All-Stars Game in Panama City Beach, featuring some of the top talent from South Alabama — led by none other than our Lady Coach, who was nominated to serve as Head Coach for the South Alabama squad. That group brought home 1st place after taking down the Panhandle All-Stars! 🏆

🌎 Cero Hasewood was also selected to compete on the USSSA World Team that same weekend — another big accomplishment and recognition for one of our own.

🦆💚 The grind never stops, and we’re back at it this weekend in Pensacola for the USSSA 2026 Sponsorship Tournament, marking our official debut as a D-ranking team!

Let’s get it, boys. New class. Same energy.

💪 GND REPRESENTING ON THE BEACH – CHANCE GOLEY #27 💪

One of our own, Chance Goley #27, traded the ballfield for the beach and went to war this past weekend at the Pensacola Beach Brawl, competing with his crew from NOW Fitness Saraland.

The Beach Brawl is in its 14th year and is one of the Gulf Coast’s premier CrossFit competitions. Chance has been grinding for months getting ready, and all the work paid off with a strong showing—and even more fun.

Proud of you, brother. Putting in the work and repping GND in every arena 👊🔥

Big shoutout to the Pensacola News Journal for the pics!

And Asher Lane Designs, LLC for the headbands!

💗 PINK OUT RECAP – GND x NESCO 💗

Two of our GND fellas, Mike #3 and DK #2, teamed up with the boys from NESCO this weekend at the USSSA Pink Out tournament in Pensacola, playing for a cause bigger than the game — breast cancer awareness.

Our usual outfield anchors got a taste of the dirt and held their own in the infield 👀🧤

NESCO had a strong run, finishing 2nd against the Commandos, who were rolling in hot after their USSSA Worlds showing in Viera. Commandos handed them their first loss of the day, 24-19, but the NESCO squad clawed through the losers bracket to earn the rematch for the ship. They needed to double-dip but dropped a heartbreaker in Game 1, 11-10.

🔹 Mike – OBA: .809
🔹 DK – OBA: .619

Couldn’t have asked for a better day of softball for a better cause. Huge thanks to Austin and the guys at NESCO for the hospitality and letting our boys roll with y’all. 🤝🩷

📣 End of Season Message from Your Lady Coach 💚🖤💛

As our season wraps up, I want to take a moment to reflect on our journey and thank every single one of you who’s been part of it.

This past week we stepped onto the big stage at the WSL World Tournament and finished with a 2-2 record—a strong showing for a first-year team. Here’s how it went down:

GND vs. High Octane/MSA — 22-11 WIN 💪
GND vs. SEU/H&H/TopShelfSports — 18-4 LOSS (they went on to place 1st 🏆)
GND vs. JC Boring — 18-16 WIN 🔥
GND vs. Primo/One World — 23-13 LOSS

While it wasn’t the exact outcome we hoped for, we showed grit, heart, and that we belong. We competed hard, earned respect, and set the tone for what’s ahead.

To my players—you poured everything into this season—your heart, time, and energy into this game. From practices to late nights on the road, from the highs of victory to the tough lessons in defeat—you never quit. That fight, that family, that fire is what defines us. YOU never stopped representing what our team is all about: family, effort, and passion. I couldn’t be more proud to call myself your coach.

To our fans—thank you for cheering, traveling, and supporting us through every inning. You gave us energy when we were tired, confidence when we were doubting, and pride every time we put on our jerseys.

This season may be over, but it’s only the beginning of the GND story. We built memories this season that will last forever, and we laid the foundation for even bigger things ahead. The grind doesn’t stop here—this is just another chapter in our story. We’ll be back in 2026—stronger, hungrier, and looking to add to our roster. The foundation has been set, and the best is yet to come.

With love and pride,
Your Lady Coach 💚🖤💛
