SMCC to Join Catholic High School League Beginning in 2027-2028

We are excited to announce that St. Mary Catholic Central has officially been approved to join the Catholic High School League (CHSL) beginning with the 2027–2028 school year.

For nearly 60 years, SMCC has proudly competed in the Huron League, creating countless memories and traditions along the way. As we look to the future, we are honored to join one of the premier high school athletic conferences in the country – one that shares our commitment to faith, academics, leadership, sportsmanship, and educational athletics.

“We are very pleased to be joining one of the premier high school athletic conferences in the country,” said SMCC President Sean Jorgensen. “The CHSL members share our core values as a Catholic institution as we seek to form the next generation of disciples, scholars, and servant-leaders.”

Athletic Director Jared Janssen reflected on SMCC’s long-standing history in the Huron League while looking ahead to the future. “We are proud of our nearly 60-year history in the Huron League and will treasure the many great memories made by our student-athletes, coaches, and families during that time,” said Janssen. “As we look forward to the countless new memories and friendships ahead, we are excited about the great opportunities and experiences the Catholic High School League will create for our student-athletes.”

She may not wear a jersey, but she's always part of the team.

Our mothers are the backbone of our organization and our community. We want to wish all of the mothers out there(especially the ones at the ball park today) a very happy Mother’s Day!
