My name is Sid, and I’m a dedicated golf instructor with over 20 years of experience in competitive golf. Unlike many traditional golf instructors, I did not attend formal training to become a teaching pro. Instead, I’ve gained my knowledge through years of high-level amateur competition. This unique perspective allows me to teach the game from a player’s point of view, drawing on the real-world experience I’ve acquired on the course.
While traditional PGA instructors are excellent for teaching swing mechanics, I focus on helping you apply what you've learned in a real game setting. I do not claim to be more qualified than a PGA professional, but my approach is different. My lessons are designed to complement, not replace, the technical swing instruction you receive from your golf instructor. I teach you how to take what you've learned and use it effectively when it counts—on the course.
Throughout my career, I honed my skills until a shoulder injury halted my pursuit of a professional golf career. However, this setback became an opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with others. I now focus on helping golfers improve their games, whether they aim to break course records or simply achieve their personal best.
I work with players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to college-level athletes, with the goal of making the game more enjoyable. My emphasis is on saving strokes around the greens and mastering course management. I believe that understanding how to play the course, not just hitting great shots on the range, is key to becoming a better golfer.
In my lessons, I draw inspiration from renowned figures like Jack Grout, Jack Nicklaus’s coach, who stressed the importance of consistency in the swing and a solid pre-shot routine. I also incorporate insights from sports psychologist Dr. Bob Rotella, emphasizing the mental side of the game, such as playing with confidence and trust in your swing.
Having played under pressure and faced my own challenges, I understand the difficulties golfers encounter. My lessons are designed to help you navigate these challenges, avoid the mistakes I made, and reach your golfing goals.
I offer flexible lesson pricing and will provide the first lesson free to give you a chance to determine if my approach resonates with you. Whether you prefer on-course lessons, range sessions, or practice green work, I tailor my teaching to focus on the areas where you need improvement.
My teaching philosophy centers around the short game. While swing mechanics are important, I believe mastering the game around the greens—inside 100 yards—is the fastest way to lower scores. I teach a variety of shots around the greens, when to play certain shots, and how to use wedges and putters confidently to save strokes.
What I teach is accessible to golfers of all ages and physical abilities. The skills and strategies I impart focus on the mental approach and decision-making process, not just physical strength or a perfect swing. Golf is about consistency, and my goal is to help you shave strokes and improve your game through better course management and preparation.
Ultimately, my mission is to help you become a better golfer and enjoy the game to its fullest. With the right guidance and consistent practice, I believe anyone can succeed on the course.
