This is why we do it. 🖤

Back in June our fundraising drawing awarded a lucky supporter four Houston Texans vs. Cowboys tickets and a parking pass — donated by Raymond Smith and Nece Smith

That family went to the game. And this morning we woke up to this message.

"He had the best time and will definitely be something he remembers for life."

That's it right there. That's the whole point.

HWPO is not just about baseball.

It's about creating moments and opportunities for kids and families that they will carry with them forever.

Every dollar raised, every sponsor who steps up, every family who supports this organization — this is what it looks like when it comes full circle.

Thank you to Raymond and Nece Smith for making this memory possible.

And thank you to every single person who participated in our fundraising drawing this summer.

The work pays off. On the field. And beyond it. 🖤🏈⚾

This one has nothing to do with baseball. 🖤

Westin Warmbold — aka Showtime — was named Student of the Month at Stewart Creek Elementary School. Trailblazer Spotlight Award. August 2026.

And here's what his teacher had to say:

*"Westin consistently shows kindness and compassion toward others and is always willing to lend a helping hand. He comes to class each day with a smile on his face and a positive attitude. His cheerful personality is contagious, and he helps make our classroom a happy and welcoming place. Westin is a wonderful example of how showing kindness can brighten someone else's day."*

This is why we say it.

Hard Work Pays Off. On the field. In the classroom. In life.

Baseball is what we do. But this — this is who we're building. Young men who show up with a good attitude, lift the people around them, and make every room they walk into a little bit better.

So proud of you Westin. Showtime on and off the field. 🖤⚾

One more step. One more round. 😤

This is Saturday morning at HWPO.

No shortcuts. No borrowed crowns. No waiting for luck to show up.

Just a hill, a group of boys, and the kind of work that builds something real.

Every bruise is a receipt. Every rep is a deposit. Every time they push when the body says quit — they're building something that doesn't show up on a scoreboard but shows up when it matters most.

These boys don't run hills because they have to.

They run hills because they understand something most people never figure out.

Pressure doesn't break the prepared. It reveals them.

When the moment comes — and it always comes — these boys will be ready for it. Because they built it. Fall by fall. Step by step. One more round at a time.

Let the hard day show what's real. 🖤⚾

One lineup.

Ten different swings.

Ten different kids.

One team that shows up ready to hit every single time because they put in the work to be ready.

Every single player in this reel has stood in the batting cage hundreds of times.

Has taken pitch after pitch after pitch until the swing became automatic.

Until the hands knew what to do before the brain caught up.

That's what you're watching right now.

Not ten lucky swings.

Ten kids who earned every single one of them.

Watch this and tell us you don't want to be in this dugout. 😤🖤⚾

The whole team showed up this weekend. Every single one of them. But two guys need their own moment. 🖤⚾

Elliott "Snacks" Esparza 🍕

Somebody get this kid more snacks. He earned them.
462 average. 1.231 OPS. Two doubles. A triple. 7 RBIs at the plate.

Then he went behind the dish and threw out FOUR runners trying to steal. Four. Hosed down. Gone. Don't even think about running on Snacks.

Then he took the mound and threw 3 clean innings — 1 hit, zero earned runs.

Oh and when he wasn't doing all of that? Outfield. Second base. Third base. Wherever the team needed him.

Snacks does it all. Every single bit of it. 😤

Jaxon "Smiles" Ricker 😤

Called on three times. All three times the game was on the line. All three times he delivered.

5.2 innings. 4 hits. 1 earned run. 5 strikeouts — all looking. As in nobody even swung.

25 batters faced across three high pressure appearances. And the moment that defined the whole weekend? Tying run on third. Winning run on second. Game on the line.

Strike. Three. Looking.

Game over. HWPO wins.

And for the first time all weekend — Smiles smiled. 😁

Turns out all it takes is a strikeout to win the game. Or a curveball so nasty it folds someone in half. Either one will do it apparently.

We'll take it. Both of them. 😂

That's not luck. That's ice. That's Smiles. 🖤

AP Express HWPO Baseball - 2nd place in their first fall tournament.

Let's put this weekend into perspective.

These boys walked into their first tournament of the fall 11U season and went undefeated through pool play and bracket play — all the way to the championship game.

On Sunday alone they played three games back to back with zero breaks. Three games. No rest. Full effort every single inning.

They gave everything they had.

And when the final out was made they walked off that field with their heads high, rings on their fingers, and a championship appearance in their very first tournament of the season.

That's not a loss. That's a statement.

This group is different. You can see it in how they compete.

You can see it in how they show up for each other when it gets hard.

You can see it in the fact that after three games in one day they were still out there grinding like it was the first pitch of the first game.

New season. New age group. Same standard.
