This year I had Reuben Miller helping me out on the over flow calls with the new M4t. He did a great job on all of the recoveries he did and didn’t leave a rock unturned on any of them. This was his biggest of the season scoring in the mid 170’s. I was very impressed with the work he did this season and can’t thank him enough for helping out!! He did an outstanding job and put customer satisfaction at the top of the list.

This one was a first. I found this deer last year for the same guy and it survived the shot. This year his son shot it with a 308. leaving zero blood hehind and went about 300 yards so I got the call to look for it again. You can see the scar from the previous shot in the photos. I love to see father/son duos in the hunting community so this one was a special recovery beings they both got a shot at the deer.

The buck I ALMOST didn’t find!! This deer was tracked by blood up to a little wood lot and the hunter decided to not go further beings it had already traveled 350 yards from the shot. I started by searching that wood lot and found a few does but we didn’t see him in there so we kept searching out from there. After checking everything within a 3/4 mile I decided I’m gonna go back to the woods he had went into and make sure he’s not in there. I just started checking every heat signature I was getting and it paid off!! He ended up being in a narrow creek with a little water in it and the water wasn’t allowing him to have the normal thermals a deer would have. 95% of deer are easy to see and find with a drone but there are still a few that find their way into tough locations to see them in and water is the worst!!

This past weekend got a little chaotic to say the least!! Sorting through 30-40 calls and trying to keep everyone happy during a good November cold snap can be a little challenging so bear with me if you’ve got a deer down and need help finding it during the busy times. Three were recovered and found most of the others still alive and doing well. Also found a bonus coyote that a hunter shot which was a first for me!!

I was able to help this young hunter recover his first deer. We found him last night and unfornunately he was still alive. Thankfully they were able to go in this morning and recover him. Not the way most hunters want to see it go down but that’s just the reality of bowhunting.

I was able to find a really good buck on opening day to get the 2024 season kicked off!!
