State parks waiving entrance fees Monday Colorado Parks and Wildlife is commemorating the state's 139th birthday by offering free admission to state parks.

We did more hiking without Charlie this last week. Loved being in Nashville for the weekend. We stayed 1.5 miles from the Bridgestone Arena. With all the shows and sports going on this weekend driving was a bad idea. Thankful Charlie has gotten us in shape for walks. We walked / hiked around town doing at least 6 miles on our first visit to the downtown.

We also discovered Radner Lake about 25 minutes from Nashville. What a beautiful walk that was. No dogs allowed though. Don't see that too much near us. Tennessee is a beautiful place. They can't be anti dog because we had several dogs in the lobby where we stayed.

Happy to be home and take Charlie on a hike again.

Did a little hiking this summer. Took Charlie up Spruce mountain with our kids. Rain was not in the forecast but while we were out a random storm kicked up and thunder and lightening were close. We headed down quickly. It's good to always be aware and have a plan as to what to do when stuff like this happens. Thankfully this storm was short lived and we were all fine. Celebrated with ice cream cones in town.
