My page has been quiet lately. I have been debating on putting anything out there because I'm just not sure where I want to go with this. My sweet warrior was my reason to run. Many already know this, but she passed away late last year due to complications from her RA battle. I have felt lost on what to do...and honestly I'm still there. I still want to do something...maybe it's running, maybe it's walking, maybe it's trying to just be a voice. At this point, who knows. I still and always will love my RA (and related) community. I just wanted to put something put there since I've had some new likes & follows.
Running After Arthritis
Follow my journey as I run for Arthritis awareness. My next goal...50k?
Running After Arthritis to Raise Arthritis Awareness! - I started running in March 2012 with plans to run a half marathon in January 2013 through the Arthritis Foundation's Joints in Motion training program. I completed the half marathon at Disney World, and I then went back to complete my 1st marathon in January 2014, again with Joints in Motion.
MCM was to be my 2nd marathon, but it was just not meant to be. I did, however, get to spend some time with dear family πͺ I haven't seen in years, explore the Naval Academy β, & ride the DC Metroπ for the 1st time. Who knows...maybe I'll go after this one again. π

As some of you may know, I had some chest pain in December that slowed me down a bit. I was recently cleared to run and exercise to my heart's content. π To celebrate, and to kick off my training for my 40 miles, I decided to complete a 5k this morning. I have only run a couple of times since getting the all clear, so I wasn't expecting much. The breathing was quite labored at times, but I was able to finish much better than I thought. My A goal was to finish in the low 40's; my B goal was to finish around 45; my C goal was to finish with at least 15/mile pace. I was pretty confident that I could at least hang on to C since that's a brisk walk. To my surprise, though, I hung on to my tighter goal! About the race - it was a mix of road, gravel & turf. I prefer road running, but this wasn't actually terrible. The volunteers were super supportive, and even though the course sounded confusing, they made sure no one ran off course.

Survived my 2nd DriTri - this time completing the Sprint. A few minutes into my run, I had to stop because of chest pain, but I got my breathing back under control and finished, π’ style. π Love this place! Go check it out!! βΊ

Good evening, Facebook! Almost 2 weeks ago, I went down to Huntersville to support my girl as she became a half marathoner!! I decided to run the 5k just for the fun of it. It was so cold, and it was even snowing by the end of the race. That was a fun addition to an already exciting experience. Way to go, girl! I'm still so excited for you. π Now, for the not so cool part. I have since had a setback that is preventing me from doing much. Please say a prayer for me - both that it's a best case scenario & for peace of mind, because I'm trying not to let myself freak out.
