Years have passed, but we are still at it.

This ride went ahead despite some remaining rain threat but was delayed due to a bad wreck on Rt 19 to the south which completely blocked traffic and delayed 1-2 people. The ride departed at ~10:20 in overcast but dry conditions.and a very comfortable 71 degrees. 6 riders departed: myself, Mike K, Jake, David K,, Fran Toro and her friend Corrine. We headed north up Hobbs Run Rd, which turns into Haines Ridge Rd, then up & down Fox Hill Rd (graveled but in good condition) to Shriver Hill Rd. A right turn there & we climbed Shriver Hill, then down to Kirby Rd. Left on Kirby for ~1 mile and then a right onto Patterson Run Rd which we climbed to the three way intersection where Fran & Corrine exited left at White Barn Rd. The rest of us pushed ahead on Sugar Run Rd, then right onto Woodside (a very fun, long downhill ride), then right onto Rt 19S a short distance and another right onto Pitcock Run Rd. This was a long and strenuous climb that got us back onto Sugar Run Rd where we turned left and essentially backtracked the Patterson-Kirby-Shriver Hill route, continuing on Shriver Hill Rd to the intersection with Big Shannon Rd, which allowed a quick ride back to our starting point at the community center. The main group logged 28.6 mi and a good deal of climbing. Remarkably, we linked back up with Fran and Corrine as we all reentered Mt. Morris. I wasn't able to figure out their alternate route but I understood them to have logged about 25 miles. We all got a little wet twice from mild pop up showers, but these were refreshing sprinkles. Humidity was up, so we all got a good sweat on. Overall conditions were very comfortable throughout due to the ideal temp and cloud cover, and there were no mishaps. Two photos were taken by Mike and Fran.

We had nine cyclists today, biking the first road ride of year in Mount Morris.
From Mount Morris, we biked up Shannon Run to Claughton Chapel, then further up the hill to Rudolph Run Road. Next, we descended Kirby Road to Shriver Hill, and back down Shannon Run to Mount Morris.
We clocked in with 22 miles, 2 hours in the saddle, 1,518 feet of climbing.
I was pleased with today's ride, and also glad that we had such a good turnout, even considering the temperature today.
Thanks to all who joined me today on this ride. Kelly
