CONGRATULATIONS TO COACH JOE CECALA for being named the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference Coach of the Year for women's swimming for the recently completed 2025-26 season. The girls reached their first sectional finals appearance since 2020 and finished #17 in the state. Well done Coach !!!!

The Lady Colonials are proud to have one of their own nominated for Morris/Sussex Athlete of the week. Junior swimmer Mariah Quad went a perfect 8-0 last week in two very tight, very intense playoff meets in the NJSIAA North1 Group A semifinals and sectional finals. Mariah won all four individual events and pared with her teammates to win the four relays she swam as well.

MHS GIRLS FINISH 16TH IN THE STATE. Congratulations to the Lady Colonials for finishing as the 16th ranked girls high school swim team in the state of New Jersey. Quite an accomplishment and quite an amazing season. Up next the MHS girls will send 7 swimmers to the New Jersey High School Meet of Champions, to be held at GCIT - preliminaries on February 28 and finals on March 1. The girls will have teams competing in all three relays (200 medley relay, 200 free relay, 400 free relay) and individual competitors in the 500 free, 100 back, 100 free and 100 breast. You make your school and our whole town proud !!!

As the MHS girls head toward the playoffs, their hard fought meet with Chatham on January 6 was statistically the 10th fastest girls meet in the entire state of New Jersey for this swim season! The author of this article states that "This meet was the one that truly established Morristown as one of the top teams in the state."

For the first time in four years, the MHS girls swim team has a County Champion! Congratulations to Mariah Quad for winning the 400-meter freestyle at the Morris County Swim Championships this past weekend with a time of 4:31.82, helping our girls team to finish second in a field of 16 teams. Great swim Mariah !!
