Long run Session done and dusted! ππ½ββοΈπ¨
Showing up is half the battle, but showing up when itβs 85Β°F and incredibly muggy takes a whole different level of grit. Today was all about locking in, executing the workout plan, and leaning on the community to get it done.
The miles got heavy, the sweat loss was real, but we pushed right through to the final cool down. Huge shoutout to everyone who outran the humidity this morning! π₯ππ½

Interval Day: Nailed the Prescription! ππββοΈ
No excuses, just adjustments! I missed my scheduled Tuesday run due to a 6:00 AM early morning office meeting, so I made sure to make up for it and cover that tough interval workout today (Wednesday). And boy, did the legs show up.
The plan called for a 1k warmup, followed by 4x 3km intervals targeted at an 8:25 min/mile pace (with 1-minute rests), and a 1k cool down.
The humidity was still clinging to the air at 88% with a 62Β°F dew point and a starting temp of 65Β°F, but the legs felt primed and ready.
THE ACTUAL INTERVAL BREAKDOWN:
* Warmup: 0.62 miles @ 10:33 pace
* Interval 1 (3km): 1.86 miles @ 8:26 pace (Right on target!)
* Interval 2 (3km): 1.86 miles @ 8:22 pace
* Interval 3 (3km): 1.86 miles @ 8:19 pace
* Interval 4 (3km): 1.86 miles @ 8:08 pace (Emptying the tank!)
* Cool Down: 0.70 miles @ 10:40 pace
Fuel of choice to power through the work: A Cold Brew Coffee GU Roctane gel for that perfect caffeine and amino boost. βπ₯
There is nothing more satisfying than adapting to a busy schedule, getting the work done, and picking up speed with negative splits on every single round. The consistency is paying off, and the engine is building.

18.67 miles vs. Summer Humidity: Done and Dusted!
Talk about a true test of mental and physical grit! Todayβs long run was a brutal reminder of what summer running in North Carolina really means.
THE WEATHER BREAKDOWN
Temperature: 74Β°F
Humidity: 94%
Dew Point: 72Β°F (Absolute soup out there!)
When the air is this thick, your ex*****on has to be flawless. This morning wasnβt about chasing a blistering pace; it was a masterclass in hydration, fueling, and listening to your body.
MY SUMMER FUELING STRATEGY
To conquer the distance in these conditions without crashing, dialing in nutrition was non-negotiable:
Hydration: 1.2 Liters of fluids crushed, with half of it packed with Nuun electrolytes to fight off cramping and heavy sweating.
Nutrition: 6 GU Roctane gels locked in strictly at 30-minute intervals to keep the energy tanks filled and the mind sharp.
Summer Reminder for the Crew: You cannot run safely in this heavy heat on plain water alone! Once you cross that 60-minute mark, electrolytes and fuel become mandatory safety gear.
A massive shoutout to everyone who woke up early, braved the humidity, and got their miles in today. Whether you did a quick easy loop or logged double digits with me, you showed up and beat the snooze button. That is a massive win!
