We’re excited to share that the Cultural & Recreational Commission of Isabella County has been awarded the Grant from the Dow Championship!

This generous support will help expand recreational opportunities and create meaningful experiences for youth and families throughout our community. The grant will directly benefit programs and initiatives at Martin Ice Arena and Morey Courts Recreation Center, enhancing access and opportunities for participants of all ages.

We’re grateful for this partnership and the continued investment in making Isabella County a vibrant place to live, play, and grow. Stay tuned for updates on how this grant will make an impact!

Yesterday, while working through our seasonal shutdown procedures, our ice-resurfacing machine experienced an equipment failure. The facility was unscathed, the equipment sustained minor damages, and most importantly, our employee avoided serious harm, only sustaining minor injuries. He was evaluated at a local hospital and released the same day.

We want to recognize and praise our employee for his courageous efforts yesterday. Due to his quick thinking and calm demeanor, he was able to deescalate the situation rapidly. We are incredibly grateful for his actions.

Congratulations to our C League champions, Four Leaf, for an incredible season! Your hard work, teamwork, and love for the game were on full display all year long, and it paid off in a big way.
