Every school visit is an opportunity to help a child discover what they’re capable of.

Through Wings Basketball Academy’s after-school enrichment sessions across CCSD schools, we use basketball and movement to give students opportunities to practice teamwork, communication, perseverance, and leadership.

An agility ladder becomes a chance to try again. A group activity becomes an opportunity to encourage a classmate. Each session is a space to learn, connect, and grow.

Our Promise-Informed™ approach starts with seeing the potential in every child and creating opportunities for them to put it into action.

Grateful for our partnership with CCSD’s Kaleidoscope program and the school teams who make these experiences possible.

Today kicked off our first day of Kaleidoscope after-school enrichment at Lambs Elementary!

We’re thankful for our partnership with Charleston County School District and the opportunity to help students build basketball skills, confidence, teamwork, and leadership.

Through our promise-informed™️ approach, we want every child to feel seen, valued, and encouraged as they learn to take ownership of their actions, attitude, and effort—on the court and throughout their lives.

Grateful to the Lambs and Kaleidoscope teams for welcoming us. Excited for the growth and connections ahead!

Does one mistake change the rest of your child’s game?

A missed shot. A turnover. A correction from the coach.

You watch their shoulders drop. They hesitate, stop communicating, or get frustrated, and you wish you knew what to say to help.

You see their potential. You also see how hard they can be on themselves.

With tryouts underway and a new season approaching, athletes need tools to handle pressure, reset after mistakes, and keep showing up with confidence.

Through Promise-Informed™ Athlete Coaching with Wings Basketball Academy, we’re creating a 12-week virtual coaching experience to help athletes recognize their strengths, build consistent habits, and grow as leaders, in sports and everyday life.

We’ll set personal goals, practice strategies, and track progress along the way.

🏀 Middle school tryouts: Make your defense stand out!

Be in position. Stay in an athletic stance. Communicate constantly. Bring heart, effort, and the mindset to get stops.

And finish the possession! Find your player, box out, and secure the rebound. One shot, one stop!

Coaches notice players who defend, communicate, and do the work that helps their team succeed.

Remember, one tryout does not define your journey. Keep learning. Keep working. Keep going!

🏀 Yesterday we shared the DO’S of middle school tryouts. Today, let’s talk about the DON’TS!

Your preparation, effort, attitude, and response to mistakes all matter. Arrive early, put the phone away, hustle with purpose, and don’t let someone else’s opinion keep you from giving your best.

You’ll miss shots. You’ll make mistakes. Take a breath, learn, and get to the next play. Coaches are watching how you respond!

🔥 Be you. Be present. Be coachable.
