Hot Stix 12U traveled to Marion to participate in the Mya Strong Foundation tournament and battled through a competitive pool to advance to the championship game.

In a rematch from the Scarecrow Scramble earlier this month, the Hot Stix 12U defeated Benton Bruisers in a full team effort to take home the championship to cap off their fall tournament season.

While the attention was on the girls' efforts and excellent play, the focus today was to create awareness and support for those affected by and fighting pediatric cancer, research, and families. Today was about them and for them in community and was day we will never forget. We will definitely be back!

Hot Stix 12U has been waiting for the Mya Strong Foundation Tournament for almost a year. Last year, the head coach heard about it and missed the cut off. This fall it was the first tournament on the calendar scheduled.

To commemorate the event, the girls decided they wanted to have a custom jersey to support those affected by pediatric cancer and representing their duck mascot.

Tasked with an opportunity to represent her team, 12U's Jo Brown submitted a design and head coach Luis Aranda coordinated with Jess Lee of Jess' Cancer Crushers to make it happen.

And today, they're proudly wearing it on the field!!!
