Excited to announce Josh Berry as our 13u head coach heading into the ‘26-27 season! Josh is currently the GM/Head Coach of the summer college program the Everett Merchants and also the Facility Manager at Base by Pros Skagit. After being drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays out of high school, he played several seasons in the independent leagues before wrapping his playing career up and coaching everything from youth baseball, high school baseball, to college baseball. Beyond excited to have Josh on staff!

Base by Pros has been consistent for almost 10 in years in teaching athletes how to prepare and do it the right way off the field. Now it’s time to take it on the field. Thursday June 4th at 5 pm, Base by Pros Skagit in Mount Vernon, WA, we’ll be holding an open house for the start of the NW Bells Select program.

We’ll be running 10u-18u programs with a major focus on development. I pride myself on the old school. Protecting athletes natural movements and teaching them how to improve while staying focused on longevity in the game. Guiding throwers how to pitch without chasing velocity. Teaching hitters how to up their average not just their distance off the bat.

Come meet the staff and ask any questions needed. Beyond excited to start this adventure!

Beyond blessed with this opportunity. Cal Raleigh will be returning to Funko Field for an Everett Merchants Camp/Fundraiser! August 4th at 12 pm, Cal will join the Everett Merchants players in an all-skills camp for ages 8-18 years old. Following the camp Cal will be giving campers a photo/autograph opportunity! We’re very grateful for this opportunity and our hopes are we can keep this program alive for another 50+ years. Please email or DM me with any questions or to get your little ones signed up! Base by Pros Skagit will be shifting focus. We want to bring things back to the old school. A developmentally focused program that has the best intentions for EVERY ATHLETE that enters the building. Our mission will be to support local athletes not only on the field but off the field. A major goal of ours will be to help your athlete understand that college is an option. If not, we’ll help them understand what it takes to be a better more productive person off the field. Every one of our coaches will be vetted early, and I’ll have a personal mission to make sure they understand what it takes to achieve these goals.

We’ll have our first open house June 4th at 6 pm at our Mount Vernon facility. Feel free to stop in and have a conversation with coaches and trainers to see if it’s the right fit for your athlete. Please DM me with any questions.

It’s always a good day when the Legend is in the building!

Our Washington Husky Softball Husky Legend is Teresa Wilson. The two-time Pac-10 Coach of the Year led the Huskies to a 532-198-1 record (.728) in its first 11 years as a program (1993-2003). Under her tenure, UW made six College World Series, finishing as runners-up in 1996 and 1999.
