Sox
The boys came out HOT for their first tournament this weekend! They were dominant with the bat early and often… amassing 21 hits and stealing 21 bases in 3 total games played; all while only striking out 3 times.. and only 1 time looking! The hard work at practice is paying off and these East Coast Sox are learning that it takes grit and determination to be the best with every drop of sweat they pour out!
Defensively the boys were fantastic! Each player got a look at multiple positions and every kid showed that being versatile is mandatory at this age group! With the confidence of a solid defensive backing, the pitching staff was able to pull off a killer stat line! ECS allowed 8 walks for the entire tournament while stacking up Ks!! Averaging 7 strikeouts per game (21 on the day/weekend) it’s easy to see why the oppositions score stayed low against the hard throwing Sox arsenal! With tons of defensive opportunities, the boys only had 2 errors, making the coaches a happy bunch!
If you follow the East Coast Sox.. stay tuned. These boys are poised for a phenomenal season and their attitudes about the loss today proved that they will come out ready to get better every week until we take the tournament field again!!
“Where there’s rain… there’s THUNDAAAAAAARRRR!!!!” Plan on bringing umbrellas because these Sox are bringing the Thunder this season!!!
